Dear CDs,
I would like to know if there is any option to speed up the process of getting citizenship after holding PR card for 3 years. The citizenship process normally takes anywhere from 12 to 15 months from the day we apply. This is a unreasonably long time to wait even after we are eligible for citizenship. Let me know if there are any factors I should consider that could speed up my citizenship application process. Factors such as my residential address, selection of citizenship test office locations, Oath office locations etc.. etc.. Please share if you had any bad experience/mistakes while getting Canadian citizenship so that I can avoid making same mistakes. Thank you.
A lot depends on where you live and this determines the office which shall process your case. Our application took less than 6 months - from the mail in date to getting passports. Add another month for the OCI.
Else I have not heard of any other way of reducing the time line.

Great, so offices outside of GTA normally takes lesser time than in GTA.
Good to know that.
Anybody elase would like to share their experience or any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Peel region has what is called Kolbe group classes. But u have to be resident of peel region (brampton and missuauga)
It costs 40$ and is run by dufferin-peel school board.
They help citizenship test questions and validating ur paperwork.
U directly give a citizenship test and then simultaneously submit ur paperwork at the citizenship offices.
Usually shaves 3 months from the timeline.

I dont think a lot of things listed as disadvantages are true..
I know for a fact ppl who did the Kolbe group got much faster responses than others..
Disadvantages listed
1. You have to wait 6 to 7 weeks for submitting the application
A>
Yes it takes 6 weeks after u start the course.. if u start the kolbe group classes 6 weeks before u complete ur 3 residency time.. U are ahead 3-4 months from the rest of the people who apply normally.
2. The application will be sent after 1 or 2 months to Nova Soctia
3. We cannot see the update on the website untill after its sent.
4. Over all applications submitted thru Koble group is some what delayed during processing compared to submitting directly.
5. Many regret for submitting the application thru Koble for the time its taking to process.
Points 2-5 are all subjective opinions.. i know equal number of people who have benefited..
