Hello Cd's,
I am in urgent need of cash for the month and I told my father in India to send $ 500 me. He contacted Money gram and Western Union and they both said that they could not send money oversees.
When my father asked his bank, they told him to give my account number as well as "Swift code" of the bank so that they can send the money. Does anyone know how to find the swift code for the bank of Montreal?
Even otherwise, do any Cd's know of any immeidate way of transferring money from India to Canada?
All honest efforts appriciated.
Peace by TK

You should ask BOM for the Swift code.

BOM inquiry: 1 877 CALL BMO (225-5266)
I think it is BOFMCAM2. But, you would also need the intermediary bank information(most probably US bank) if the money is in USD. So please call BMO and request for incoming wire transfer information for the respective currency.
Take care.
Regards
there will be fees deducted in between these transfers, the best option is to ask any of your friends here in canada to transfer $500 to you, and inturn your father can transfer the equivalent Rs to your friends NRI/NRO account in India
