A couple of days ago, it was the Gai Mata - I'm neutral towards the Cow, in the sense I do not worship it, but neither do I do the opposite (whatever you call that). But personally I feel where half the population of the country does worship the Cow, I think the picture was uncalled for.
Again today (Jul 15th) there's a picture of 'Our toilets' - Sure enough it may be a reality in India, but on a website which is hosted miles away from our country in a foreign land, I don't think it is appropriate to put up such a picture.
Keep in mind the site is visited by many non-Indians, it just gives these people an opportunity to talk negatively about India.
How do other CD members feel about this.
These are my 2 cents.

Well I totally DISAGREE with guys here. If you don’t find these things offensive while walking on the streets in India, how come it is so offensive here. In the past people have posted lots of pictures here portrait India as a modern nation but you just cannot ignore bad things we have in India too. Can’t understand why people want to live in state of denial, whatever posted at the site is true so accept it. At least our kids must see both sides of India.
I would like to praise and appreciate Garvo for posting these pictures.
Great Work, Garvo!

When it comes to US, Canada, Europe...very nice scenic pictures and for India...'Gai mata on the road', 'beggers', 'stupid traffic'...and the latest 'toilet places'!!! Come-on, not something to put on site with title 'Picture of the day' on home page.
And...when both sides are seen by the children, you know the answer!!! 'Kitna ganda hai'...good to let them know both sides as well...
Now just waiting for someone to put toronto dirty 'China town' pictures, some of the dirtiest places of New York and more....why only India?

Screw the reality aspect. No body is in denial, I hated them because of the aesthetics.
And if you are so into showing your kids the 'both sides', frame those pics and put them on their bed side.. spare us. Geez.
