Actually they are not.

It seems that the French are.
It’s nice that discussion is going healthy way. A good sign.
I was expecting a bashing on my comments.
We (Indian) may not be worst, but there is always room for improvements. I have seen Chinese media issuing advisories to probable tourists how to improve image of country abroad.

French have the language issue. Lot of them refuse to speak English dspite knowing. No wonder they travel within France. We desis speak English at least, accent be damned.
As pointed out here, 60 yrs is a matured age. There is room for improvement. Somewhere we are lazy. We dont keep the time. Here in North America, many desis come late to other desis related activities such as parties, social events, etc. Will they go to meetings in their offices late? Nah...that would piss off white folks and desis dont want to do that. With other desis, they take undue liberty and move to comfort level pretty soon.

PARIS: Penny-pinching, rude and terrible at foreign languages: French people are the world's worst tourists according to a study of the global
hotel industry released on Thursday.
Carried out last month by TNS Infratest, the study asked 40,000 hotels worldwide to rank tourists from 27 countries based on nine criteria, from their politeness to their willingness to tip.
Clean, polite, quiet and uncomplaining, Japanese tourists came top of the crop for the third year running.
At the other end of the spectrum, French holidaymakers and business travellers were the least open to new languages, ranked last for generosity and readiness to tip, and next-to-last for their overall attitude and politeness.
Pushy French travellers made amends on elegance — classed third — as well as for their discretion and cleanliness.
Despite cliches about beer-guzzling hordes descending on Mediterranean resorts each summer, Britons came a surprise second for their overall attitude, politeness, discretion and even elegance.
But the model Japanese were followed by Canadians as the least likely to whinge when a trip goes wrong.
France's rivals for the "worst tourist" tag, Spaniards and Greeks came near the bottom of the pack in almost every category.
