My wife has an Indian Passport which is expiring in March-2010 and she has a PR Card till 2013. She has just applied for her Canadian Citizenship.
Are there any issues when she enters India, leaves India and re-enters Canada after Sep-2009 as then her passport will have less than 6 months validity?
I've researched this in other sites and it seems it's OK to travel and back up to the expiry date. I just wanted to see if someone has been through a similar situation and like to share their travel experience.
Thanks in advance.
As long as the Indian passport is valid, going to India is not an issue. (Foreign passports require 6 months validity, not Indian)
With a valid PR card, same is true for Canada too. (Normally foreign passports need to be valid for at least one day beyond the intended departure date from Canada. Exempted for PR holders)
But based on which flights she is going to take and thru which countries she will be traveling, you will need to check their rules as well.
