Hi All,
Iam in USA on an H1-B Visa. I have applied for Canadian Immigration last year.
Recently, I have received a paper from the Canadian Consulate that I have to appear for an Interview.
Regarding this, i have couple of questions:
1) What is the purpose of having an Interview? One of my other friend also applied at the same time, but she got an interview waiver but he has to give like couple
of papers (medical papers, finger print, police verification...etc)...and that't it. Me and this friend, both are Engineers from the same college (back from india) and passed at the same time and the same stream. He is also working in USA on H1-B as like me since 4 years now.
So, iam confused here, for me, is it mean that i have to appear for an interview and then i have to give all these papers .....that would mean extra amount of time
spent for the processing ?
2) Is it good to have an interview or interview waiver is better ?
3) is there any sample q&a that somebody can suggest ?
Please advise ....

Well waiver is definately better as it reduces the processing of your immigration. But neverthyless Interview also can't been seen as negative. I guess Interview is targetted to verify facts which you have provided in your file.
They might just want to check up your experience. Or verify other information which you might have provided in the application.
I have appeared in the interview myself and most of the question are revolving around proving things which you written your application. Last but not least showing proof of funds...

Hi,
It is good to have interview waiver.
If you get a copy of CAIPS notes, it gives you the reason for interview.
I also attended interview in LA. It was just a verification of the documents.
could you please let me know the approximate time length of the interview and morover, if you can tell me some of the questions that they asked ?
Please also let me know the importance of having an CAIPS ?
and how can i get CAIPS information if i do not know anybody who is either a candian immigrant or a citizen ?
thanks for your help,
aditi
