Hi Folks,
I am travelling to US during the christmas break. But the problem is that my pr card is expired and and i have applied for one already. Although I requested them to process my application under emergency category, But it will still not be renewed before my travel date. Now my question to all of is that of it is possible for me to enter into canada with an expired pr card, (which i have submitted with the application of renewal). So i have only the photocopy of pr card with me now. The only other option that i can think of is to apply for the travel document in Buffalo, But I am not sure how long does that take to process if I apply in person.
So I request all of you who have gone through this, to share your experience with me.
Thanks
It is technically possible to enter Canada by road without a PR Card.
However, you will face extra scrutiny.

Make sure you carry the photocopy of the card and all the documents listed above.

My PR card is currently being renewed and I travel to the US once or twice a month. There is no problem. Just present your driver's license and your landing paper at the border when entering Canada. If they ask about your PR card, tell them you have sent it for renewal and that's all that is needed.
PS> This is possible only when entering Canada by road.
