Hi,
I found this website four days ago & since then I got lot of information regarding migration. Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts & ideas. Most of the comments are negative but still I believe these experiences will help me to avoid mistakes. I am from restaurant industry with hotel management degree, working as a general manager for an international casual dine in franchise unit in the Middle East. I have almost fifteen years international experience. My plan is to open an Indian restaurant after landing.( if someone knows how much it will cost approx. concedering 80 % bank loan ) Ofcourse I will work couple of years after landing to et idea about the local market. With my experience do you think I can get job ( not expecting as a GM ) which will cover my ( me, wife & two school going kids ) bread & butter expenses ? Please let me know about Calgary restaurant industry as well as job prospects in terms of salary & stability.

I moved from usa here and believe me it is tough here. If you are in middle east and want to come here. do not come and make your life miserable. I know lots of people struggling and bitter from middle east. they were more happy there. Lots of negative posts as that is the reality my friend and only if you have no food you know what hunger is and not others. dont chase the illussion canadian dream as there is nothing here but misery.
