Hi,

Are ETF's a good investing idea for long as well as short term gains? I am planning to put in some money in ETF's under the TFSA, but not too sure as to the options to select.
Can someone guide me please?

I love ETFs. They are a great alternative to expensive and under-performing mutual funds.
They provide diversification at a fraction of the cost of mutual funds, plus benefits of intra-day trading.

However, I like broad-based, high-volume ETFs, not the niche, exotic ETFs.
These days there are all kinds of fancy ETFs being created - some are not "true" ETFs even but a hybrid of asset-allocated funds.

What specific sectors or markets did you have in mind?
