Vistor Visa, how to get multi year , multiple entry visa

Hi All,

I am tired of applying for visitor visa for my parents again and again. Every time they get the visa only for one year.

They usually go through a agent.. so my feeling was that it may be because of information that the agent was putting on the form..

This time i am filling the form for them and asking them to do the application on their own..

The one relevant question regarding their stay
"Indicate how long you plan to stay in canada" may be the key question..

What should i answer ?

Did you get a copy when the agency filled in those forms for the VISA.?

If so you can just copy the same format and proceed smartly and ask for the FIVE Year Visitor Visa with Multiple Entries. Also pay the required fees this time.

You can provide them with the exact term of their stay. If they are retired, then One year. (Six months is the normal stay) Then you ask for an extension. Also state that they desire to visit neighboring countries, while they are here with you.

I filled in 3 mnths for their intended plan of stay . I requested 5 yrs multiple visa which they were granted . I had send them self attested invitation letter ( no notarization done ) .
Best of luck

Thanks for the suggestions guys

My parents are in Bombay and there is no consulate.

Would it make any sense to use the VFS, i am filling the forms for them?

As per application forms using VFS is optional for canada visa.

Hi All,
I have canadian work permit since november, 2008 till november, 2010. But even a single time i could not travel. I had been appointed as a computer aided drafting technologist to a canadian client to whom we were giving service. Before 3 days to travel i met with a road accident & lost that job. Since then i did not work for 8 months and then joined to a local company as sales engineer. I am interested to try for the job on my own efforts. I do not have anybody to get help in canada. Even i dont want to waste the visa. How to get jobs there to servive for initial relocation expenses. What all the other steps i do follow. Only 5 months are remaining for the expiration of the visa. I am very much dipressed about not taking use of the visa as i dont have any one to help. I am totally frustated. Please help me out.

Its optional, but its convenient as your parents can just hand in the forms at the local office. They will scrutinize and let them know if anything is missing. The downside is that you have to pay them for their service.
