Summer's around the corner... Why don't we hire a bus for a day and go somewhere? Any suggestions?

Come over for the meeting on 1st May, discuss the matter, suggest some place and things to be done, evaluate the processes and hard work involved in organising such a thing, prepare yourself to get conflicting ideas, and above all, commit to some major work you will be willing to do to make this happen. And once the picnic is organised and done with, armour yourself to face the critisism without regrets and confidence that you can do it again!

I can give you a few names who would love to join you for this!

Chandresh ji those glitches would always be there. I am sure it would not prevent us from organizing such events.

Let us discuss this issue on May 1 meeting and we will go from there.

Thanks and regards.

Sadly I'am not in TO on May 1. If it rains on May 1 I'll be there for the May 8 meeting.

Chandresh , I'am ready to organize the trip. Actually this forum is better for discussing the picnic rather than Biomed's house , not everyone who is interested in the picnic is gonna turn up at his house...This forum has the advantage of including everyone.

Biomed,

I am not trying to talk only about gliches, but just wanted to make the person who is throwing this idea recognise what all is involved and take up the responsibility. I am glad Sridhar is ready to do all that - otherwise, there are quite a few people in this world who can easily throw an idea but never actually work enough to materialise the same due to various reasons.

I really do not understand what this fuss is all about...The idea is a pretty simple one... Have a picnic. Decide on a destination , agree on the cost , hire a bus , arrange some food. None of this is a big deal in a city like TO.

Three simple steps.....

1. Put up a list of possible 1 day destinations. Have a vote on this forum. Decide. Set date.
2. Calculate cost per person , give a trusted address to send check to (Biomed? Garvo?). Collect money, organize the trip. If enough people don't sign up , cancel and send check back.
3. ENJOY the picnic!

Let's try this once...If it doesn't work out we lose nothing , if it works out we can make this a regular affair!

The key is to let decentralize, it will be easier for everyone.

The idea is simple ...to get together and enjoy at a nice location .

Why do we need to hire a bus ? almost everyone has car ,lets drive ..those who cant drive will get rides from those who can.

Select a spot, fix a date and time, show up and have fun...

if there are many who are going to join, lets ask a caterer to bring food...if it is a small group, we can do a pot luck.

why blow the horn about what will go wrong when it is not even happenning yet.... there will be some fun too

i am not saying nothing will go wrong ,...but everyone should have a share in gain/pain and not just one person(s)
