Hi could anyone tell me abt a good and reasonably priced beauty parlour in the Mccowan and steeles area. I have curly hair and i am wondering does straightening your hair make u look better.......
sophia
I have read mixed reviews about chemical straightening. Once hair starts growing in at the roots, it is again curly/wavy etc. You wil lhave to maintain treatments which i understand are very expensive. If someone offers them to you cheap beware........ you want someone who will do a competent job with such harsh chemicals and not try to cut corners. I didnt go for it because i dont want those chemicals in my hair.
I use a straightening iron every second or third day. Buy a good quality one from a salon or beauty supply store. Dont go to the drug store as those ones arent as good. Try to get a titanium one or one that heats to at least 450 degrees. The higher the heat the less time you need to run it through your hair, therefore minimizing potential heat damage. Expect to spend at least $100-$150.

Any suggestions for the brands would help MR. I am trying to shop around and found much cheaper brand($35-$75) promising the same features.
I have a wavy hair and this will be my first experience to straighten my hair on my own. any tips appreciated.
Thank you
Shriya.
