Hi everybody,
I am new to these forums and this happens to be my first post . I have a few queries and hope that you are able to help me.
I have completed my B.Tech in Electronics and communication from India with a distinction and have some research experience as well.
However I would like to obtain a master's degree from canada and (hopefully) land a job there.
During my search across various reputed universities in canada such as UToronto, waterloo etc. , I noticed that these universities offer M.Eng and MS.

My queries are as follows -

1)I am looking forward to an industry oriented career and not teaching career , so would i benefit more from an M.Eng degree?

2) I would like to know the availability of jobs for an M.eng degree in electrical and computer engineering ,especially in the wake of the recession

3) Also would gaining a year of work experience before applying to program as given in

help In gaining a PR easily?

Thank you for your time
and Awaiting Replies!

No answers for you but some suggestions on where you can find them in order to decide:

Write to professors within the University programs you are checking out and ask them about the utility of a particular degree for working in the industry.

Identify which professional body you would be accountable to in your ideal career (example: Professional Engineers of Ontario)
Then find out what the gap is between your current educational and work experience and what you need to fill that gap..

Also be aware of what catagory you can apply under. There have been changes in what occupational categories are being accepted into the country under the federal skilled worker program recently... as far as I know engineering is not on that list. However options might exist if you have an education and work expeirnce from Canada.

You will have to do a lot more research by yourself before you make a knowledgable decision on whether to immigrate
