How do you define "powerful"? Is it only based on national consumption or the political influence at world level? Does it really influence the life of an average Indian.

Based on my experience in Canada, I think India should focus on fulfilling basic needs/issues of citizen - healthcare/poverty/illiteracy/infrastructure, if it really aims to be a global power in coming years.

If Japan falls below India when it comes to power, does it mean Tata will start exporting cars to Japan, or Videocon starts exporting TV to Japan?
