What about FCNR deposit with Citi bank or other banks?

Check out this bank they are member of CDIC and u can open high intreset saving account at 2% intreset

Ashedfc, a FCNR full form is "Foreign currency non resident account" in other words account for NRI's in USD, CAD, GBP, EURO etc.... their choice of currency. One can keep a FCNR account in CAD and if I'm not mistaken the interest rate with HSBC is 2.92% for 1-2 year. Most of the banks, Citibank, HSBC, in India will have similar rates.

Metallurgy- please check for FCNR interest rates with your bank in India (where you have NRI account). I'll suggest if you have CAD then keep the FCNR account in CAD only.
