Per media reports, there is a push from RSS leaders to have N. Modi as the BJP chief replacing Gadkari. This is interesting. Gadkari is a non starter, a dud (he cant maintain his own physical weight, what he will do for the party?). Modi's name is pushed to fight the next Lok Sabha elections. This would be challenged by Sushma Swaraj. She has huge money support thru Reddy brothers in Karnataka.
Let's see how it plays out.
Narendra Modi is a good example for the saying Yathaa Raja, Thathaa Praja. whenever BJP comes to power at the centre, middle class can heave a sigh of relief, the price rises wont be phenomenal, home loans affordable and there will be no major share market or other scams. On the flip side, many of their MPs are fickle minded and can be easily bought over. The recent events in Karnataka, show this. Of late, corrupt politicians have infiltrated into BJP as well. People saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai and indulging in corruption at the same time, will be a more virulent form to dislodge than say, the minority appeasment politics of the ruling Congress.

Voting patterns in the rest of India may not be the same as in Gujarat. Caste and local village level politics(especially in rural areas) play a bigger role than national issues.
Heck, even in Gujarat, per my understanding(somebody correct me if I am wrong), the powerful farmer lobby is no big fan of Modi either.
BJP's ideology is to unite the Indians as a monolithic Hindu voting block, while the Congress' is to divide the electorate based on caste, religion, sex, region, class, rural-urban etc. A fundamental mistake(by BJP) to make when it comes to realpolitik in India.
Add to that the gift of EVM's to Congress. Won't make a much of difference even if Modi were to take charge.
The key to sustaining India's right wing is to wake up the electorate(edited) in South India, especially TN, AP and Kerala. India desperately needs a right-of-center political party as a catalyst for change.
BJP has problems with its identity and dilution of its ideology. Frankly I am glad they is not in power. Who wants Congress-version 'B'?
You Nailed it.
The morons including myself will never wake up.
The CM of Tamil Nadu asked in which engineering college did Ram get his engineering degree?.
He destroyed BJP idelogy in one question.
When Naren Bhaiya came to the Thuglak function in Chennai they denied him an auditorium and then played around his security and also not confirming his program.
You can see the program online in Thuglak to see Cho himself talk about it.
If you see the latest elections in Kerala it has been a clean sweep by the Congress and interestingly the Churches ganged up and adviced the congregate whom to vote for in the election.
The guy who cut of the Christian Professors hand, won handsdown in this election sitting in the jail.
We know what is happening in Karnataka with Yeddy visiting temples while the Reddy Bros horse trading in Crores of rupees.
It is a bigger mess in uguleT (inverse of Telugu) land.
We have the evangelical charismatic leader of Congress paying Advance income tax of 84 crores, while TDP is in riots over Raktha charitra where Shotgun sinha has revealed how a coward NTR was in his days.
Chi Bhaiyyas brother is in a legal mess, while Chi bhaiyya with his Bro-In-Law is like a floor mat for Soniya Thaiyis house.
Nobody knows which side is for Andhra and who is for Telengana.
MuKa family have literally leased off Tamilnadu, with distribution of each district to family members.
Azhagiri owns Madurai, while Stalin owns Chennai; Kanimozhi owns Trichy while his other kids own many of the major locations in Tamilnadu.
The MuKA family have taken over the tamil movie industry, TV industry and hence control the MEDIA in Tamilnadu.
With the morons tied down how do you expect the DESH to come beyond the Congress formula and progress?.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
Do not know about other states, but there is a new trend which is or which will fast catch up in other states as well. The ruling party doesn't have to win people's or voter goodwill. The whole constituency may be dead against the party in power. But still it goes on to win the election. This is being done by 3 pronged approach of 1)bribing the poor and uneducated voter (the rate now is around Rs.5000 per vote, cool 20,000 for a family of 4, the rumour goes). 2) Rigging the Electronic Voting Machine and 3) Buying the government officials and even the opposition representatives manning the poll booth. This was most visible in Madurai, Thirumangalam by-election last year. While the whole state was waiting with bated breath for the defeat of the ruling party for its misdeeds and shortcomings, the scion of the ruling party leader could even declare the margin of votes, by which his party will win. And this precisely was what happened.
Because of the expertise of DMK in such operations, Sonia Gandhi seems to have a special liking for the party. She would not let go off the party, even if there was a tsunami against Raja on the spectrum issue. With all these when parties retain power, people cannot complain about corruption or misgovernance, for they have also received bribe during election.

Unless he is tried in court of law and justice given to families who lost thier loved ones in Gujarat genocide and the train burning Modi is a persona non grata.
He will always be irrelevant outside Gujarat.
