I am going to apply for my citizenship next month, I was wondering does any one know where can i find material to prepare for the exam?
and also does it also take about 13-15 months even if you are in Alberta?
When you apply, they will send you a booklet and the contents in the booklet would be good enough for you to prepare. Its fun to read the book, read the book thoroughly, not only for the citizenship exam but for the sake of valuable information.
When the exam dates are close (you could guess your tentative date by tracking some citizenship forums), google for canadian citizenship tests to access practice tests and that is it.

1) Please down load pdf virson DISCOVER Canada booklet, save it on your hard drive and read it.
2) Visit your local library and ask for Citizenship test related info. They will give you a page with current details and names of your area councellor, mayor, mp, mpp etc. Which will be very accurate and important.
3) Don't think of 12-15months, start asap.
4) You may not believe me but it took me ONLY 3 days waiting for test. I've submitted application at St Clair office, Toronto and same day I was offered date for return exam. It was a pilot project and I was one of the few luckiest one. I was fully prepared in advance and I passed the test.
