This was really fast, I just got back from long weekend and recieved today Feb23rd my oath confirmation letter dated Feb18th to appear on Feb24th/ tomorrow. Thats not even a week notice.

I would have to really go out of my way to attend this tomorrow as we are moving to a new place all this week and to elivate the situation I am not able to locate my Landing Paper. Everything else, PR card etc I have the originals, I do have a photocopy of landing paper.

1. Called the call-center and they are asking to provide a request in writing to re-schedule. Is that normal procedure for all?

2. Also, thinking that I should just take whatever documents I have to the location tomorow and they might let me take the oath without landing paper? Any experiences?

thanks -R

Do # 2. They stamp the landing paper. In any case they will keep your PR card and you can not travel without that.

thanks for the suggestion, I intend to do that. But, I hope they don't bring it to judge's notice or make a big fuss and ask me to re-apply.

Just last month when I went to write the exam a lady without the landing paper was allowed to write but she was told that make sure to bring the paper next time during oath.

So does anyone remember if they strictly check that the landing paper is original ? or make it a mandatory requirement ?

As far a I remember the ORIGINAL landing paper is mandatory since they stamp it prior to taking oath. But since you have no choice right now, you might as well proceed with what you have and hope for the best. The worst that can happen is they will reschedule the oath to a date suitable for you, which is what you would do anyways.

Good luck.

BTW, what have you been doing for 1 month? You should have taken all steps 1 month ago if you did not have (notifying them that you lost it). Procastination can screw sometimes. You have rightfully named yourself as KARMA.

The OP already seems to have his PR card (hence his landing paper must have been stamped "Not Valid for Travel" anyways ) and that should be enough at the time of Oath.

Deshi # 1 is absolutely right, you had a enough time for the process for duplicate landing paper and would been peacefully ready for citizenship, but now too late..........

IMO, Go with whatever papers you have and hope they will allow you....

all the best......
