I think today something was wrong with the batting order. Dhoni is experimenting with the batting order in each and every game of this world cup. This is fatal. Powerplay taken at 39th over was also wrong. It should have been last 5 overs. Kohli is not comfortable except at postion no.3.Pathan should have been brought later on. Indian fielding is also poor. In next game I think Raina should be given a chance instead of Gambhir.

The way the tournament is shaping up, looks like S. Africa will win the Cup. They do deserve to win, for being an excellent fielding and bowling side and a reasonably good batting side. After the debacle against England in Chennai, the way they have bounced back in the last over against BCCI team, when they needed to score 13 runs, is a pointer.

No, India will not win the world cup. They are already struggling with menows like Netherlands and Ireland. Wait until they meet Aussies, SA, Srilanka and yes even Pakistan. Their bowling is at it's worst that I have seen in the recent times. Batting is still the same and just like a pack of cards it falls when 1 or 2 wickets go down in quick succession. Once Veeru and Tendu are gone, you can pretty much wind up the innings.

Yes, pressure is there. But then pressure is a part of these big tournaments. Also, I think as long as India rely upon only one sport, i.e. Cricket, there will always have an immense pressure. I highly doubt Aussies have that highly inflated pressure level as they play more than one international sport with excellence. So the pressure is less on the countries with more than one national and popular sports.

I reiterate, India will NOT win this world cup. My bets are on South Africa and Australia.

Don't say I didn't warn enough. Whatever I said above happened (again) in the match against South Africa.

If they (except Sehwag and Sachin) play half of what the money is being paid to them, I believe they can win any game. Alas! Dilli abhi door hey. Also, Dhoni's arrogant attitude will sink this team's World cup ship. I would say, drop Chawla immediately, bring Raina in, keep Bhajji and Zahir for the last overs, and reprimand the whole batch of 'so-called' batsmen heavily, who only excel in the less crucial matches. Heck! We used to play better than them during our school/college days.

I could never understand, how difficult is it to stick to the basics and just keep taking singles by trying to keep the wickets intact? Is it so much to ask from our peck of cards batsmen? No need for any boundaries as the job is already taken care of by the openers to some extent. But hey! Who cares, as I am earning a handsome amount at the end of the match - win or loss.

I still stick to my words - India will not win this World Cup (as much as I would love them to), sentiments aside. Mark my words. My utmost sypathies with high scorers Sehwag, Sachin, and to some extent Gambhir.

some extend you are right, India lost 7 wickets in 29 runs on last overs, what a shame on the players.........

I think kick Ashish nehra out and give Ashwani at least a chance, b'cos now we are struggling for good bowlers....

Dhoni has to change his attitude in team and team needs together for play a cricket not to play a game between player and give Favoritism to some player.

Dhoni agreed in conference that they could win this match, but on last over require run was 13 and Peterson (acutally he is not a batsman) and first ball 4 runs, second ball 6 runs, 3 balls 4 runs...........what a S***t bawling by Ashish Nehra.

What the other stars foretell...

http://www.rediff.com/cricket/report/world-cup-2011-india-chances-winning-astrologers-stars-foretell/20110314.htm

BTW, irrespective of who won the match, it was truly an entertaining one. Both teams have been chokers in the past and that made the battle very interesting even in the last over.

It is easy to be an armchair critic watching the match on TV with so much information available in front of you. Put yourself in the Greame Smith or Dhoni's shoes in the middle of those 22 yards with 50,000 spectators, over a billion viewers and 100s of administrators aiming for your head - on top of all the tension of the moment and then take it to the wire - with none of them giving up fight - absolutely engrossing match indeed.

Nehra has been a genuine slog overs bowlers and most of the boundaries scored in his bowling were edges past the stumps/WC - except the six in his last over which could have been luck favoring the batsman.

What I liked was that the Indian fielding was much better than their previous matches (not as great as SA or Ireland) and hope they keep giving their best irrespective of the results.

This match also affirmed my belief that India loses most of the matches when Sachin scores a century.. and usually wins when Shewag scores a ton.

Lets enjoy the game without being Patriotic - it is a game, not war.

In the recent past, india performed better under pressure. They handled pressure better then any other team. I only hope that dhoni changes his attitude and bring in ashwin in place of nehra. Also the captain need to tell what the team wants from every team member according to match situation.

In SA/India match dhoni slammed batters, and it gives me an impression that the captain did not tell them anything what he expects from them.

Something going on within team??

they r there for da reason. they r high paid for da reason...

no mater how much batter goofed up in last 10 overs - 296 was still defendable. nehra n patel both r liabilities. u cant expect much from them. when team cant defend scores of 296 & 370 it is captain who is problem. captain is in-charge. nehra was in cold after 37th over. bhajji was all pumped up and infact he was bowling much better in this match (his best so far in WC).

nehra blows cold under pressure. only one pressure match on his resume so far (back in 2003).

lately we have seen this a lot - isnt it? Specially batting first.
hmmmm u know, dig lil more in those matches and u will see some 'captaincy issue' - some questionable moves by dhoni. i m just saying not implying anything.

best chance for india to win is batting second (only way to take bowling n captain out of equation) and hope for GOD to come out good under lights.
