Going by your logic of popularity, you would have no issue if Raakhi Sawant decide to lead the fast against government for corruption removal. IMO, Baba Ramdev is a TV personality and should stick to what he is good at, making money through TV.

Initially, I was 400% behind the anti-corruption satyagraha started by Baba Meghal and Baba Puttoo. Then i realized that no one has seen or heard of baba meghal and baba puttoo, in person.
I guess, that leaves us with Baba Ramdev..who is actually fighting for something which we are not.

I have been bagging to people in this forum to think positively.... and finally the time is here... Things are not going to change in a day or two.
But now I see most people (even on this forum) are now supporting Bharat Swabhiman, Swami Ramdev, Anna and others...
The common man is still sleeping in India... When Britishers kept hammering into Indian brains "you are inferior, we are superior, we have better technology, white skin is better than black" for 250 years, it has become part of India's DNA to think Indians are inferior, white skin is always better than black. We Indians have become slaves of corruption.
I actually wanted Swami Ramdev to form a political party and fight the system..Gandki ko saaf karne ke liya kabhi kabhi gandki main ghusna bhi padta hai...
Meghal, it takes a lot of courage to show up on the TV and answer the media who is always asking demotivating questions (if you have noticed). Almost every economy class family watches TV every night and I feel it is the best way to reach to every common man in the country and convey your message to them.
Swami Ramdev was initially, only promoting Yoga for a healty nation, to avoid pharma companies & doctors from looting poors for expensive unnecessary medicines and treatments. The goal was to give good health to the nation (Janseva, samaj kalyan).
It was Mr. Rajiv Dixit who gave Swami the vision of cleansing the system in many other ways (such as brining black money back, implementing studies in native languages). After all both had a similar goal of healthy and wealthy society as a whole country.

Great of Baba to call for that .... however it is not that the government is saying that there is no black money stashed abroad and is refusing to bring it back to India. Keep in mind that this black money has not come overnite during Congress rule. We had five years of NDA and before that we had two stints of non congress government too but not a single penny has been returned or for that matter ...... not a single penny has been "found" anywhere in the world so far.

Unlike you i dont need a baba to tell me there is corruption in India. As for corruption in private sector, perhaps you need to review that statement. Every big business house in India has played a role in corruption. The biggest being by our famous Ambani's. I never said that we should do nothing to combat corrution. Infact i am saying that there should be a widespread social movement at grassroot level to combat corruption on day to day activities.
My response to baba's action is that he is just trying to get mileage out of a situation. There is no concrete program to combat corruption. And unfortunately the situation is so hopeless that a lot of people are just hoping that the baba will ride into delhi and rid us of this corruption.
I have said this before and will say it again, all this baba can hope to do is change the government in Delhi. Now this has happened before too - during Rajiv Gandhi's time and Narsimha Rao's time. Both times congress government were removed to be replaced with inefficient governments who almost ran the country to ground.
India is no Tunisia or some arab land that new leadership might provide hope. We might end up replacing congress with some lalu or mulayam .... corroupt leaders from a well meaning JP.

I am srprized by logic(?) of Puttoo and Meghal.
Puttoo is advancing well tested and quite successful argument of Kangress, that if Kangress is corrupt, so are other parties and which is true to an extent. However, that does not mean that People of India should let Kangress rule. It is better to try a different party. One never knows when another Narendra Modi or Lal Bahadur Shahstri would pop up.
Baba is asking for repatriation of Black money. Now in past NDA could not achieve that. However, the world has changed since. Puttoo is either illiterate in finance or is obfuscating the issue like Digvijay. For example, Swiss bank, which would never disclose personal details of account holders, have gleefully handed over the details to USA. Germany is sharing freely details of account holders in tax haven with any country, which asks for it. However, MMS is so thoroughly corrupt that they have become inert. It is well known fact that black money in India is laundered through Mauratious. Now tax treaty with a tiny country like Mauratious does not offer ANY tangible benefits and hence instead of blocking that route, MMS does nothing.
As regards blaming private corporate houses, nothing can be more ridiculous. Kangress has devised its all economic and tax policy in such a manner that private corporations HAVE to bribe to survive. In fact it was Indira was the person who famously said that “Corruption is a universal phenomena.”
One may not, and I do not agree to Baba or Anna’s stand completely but I do applaud their courage, especially when we all know that this Govt. is very vengeful. I do not know how an enlightened person can ever endorse scums like Digvijay or MMS.

Talking about logic are we now .... People of India have spoken and they want Congress to rule it is as simple as that. You dont get to speak on behalf of people on India, they can do that on their own.
As regards giving chance to other parties, what are the chances that instaed of Narenra Modi we dont get Shibu Soren.

Why wasn't NDA able to get the black money? Have you ever thought of that ? Every politician ... across all parties in India has indulged in corruption and they in turn protect each other.
Advaniji had brought out a "white paper" on black money and when Soniaji told him about his account details, he simple tendered an apology. "Is hamam mein sub nanage hai."
As regards to USA, Germany etc, first educate yourself as to what happened their and then can discuss that too.
You should stop taking those MMS pills and try to chill ...

As regards “People Verdict”, I did stated in my post that now that Kangress has won mandate in three states recently, their confidence has grown in stupidity of Indian people to keep electing the same corrupt party for 60 years and hence they decided to kick Baba out of Delhi. They know that once he is out of Delhi, he would not be able to command the media frenzy and his fasting would be in vain or hopefully he would die of hunger! (That would not make much difference in statistics of Indian dying of hunger). The point is that if Kangress thinks that they have “people verdict” in their favour, why are they afraid of Baba? Why play games? Why would they beat up people in middle of night? Reality is that Kangress knows that 70% populace is against them. (They rule with 30% votes)
Further as I had stated in my post that you are really ignorant as to how the world has changed after 2008 meltdown. EVERY country in the world is now worried about budget deficit and hence they have pressured all tax haven to sign tax information exchange treaties. India has not done that because that would expose MMS and Sonia and admittedly other politicians also. Indians understand that Baba would never get wholehearted support from Indian politicians or Babus.
However, one has to have a tunnel vision to defend anti national MMS and Sonia. If you care to google, you would get enough articles how this duo has sold India down the drain. After so many expose of scandals, it is unthinkable for me that any person with a good conscious can ever defend MMS/Sonia.
Take Sonia pill and Chill and dream and ............

Adjectives like "baba" or "bapu" or "pujya" are the biggest problem that I have while talking about such personalities. If that guy was well educated and wore normal clothes I wouldn't have any issues with his crusade. His celebrity status and his questionable credentials go against his motive.
