Hi all !

Im a newbie here and i have an experience of driving for 12 years in Dubai before i came here. I have done a few classes in here and would like to apply for a test.

People say that here the easy test centres are Guelph and Oakville. I would need some recommendations and advice on whether i should apply for G2 first of go directly for G. I need the licence urgently in order to keep up with the numerous medical appointments my ailing mother has.

Would appreciate prompt responses.

there are no easy test centres. If you take G and fail, you have to start from G2. In GTA you have min of 2 months of waiting time to get the booking.

If you have driving experience you can pass any where you go for test. At Toronto or Mississauga test centres large number of students fail due to heavy traffic and having very little driving practice.

Some instructors take students 150-200km away from Toronto where hardly a few cars on the road and most students can pass test in their First attempt.
Test dates are also available earlier than GTA area.

If you have previous experience you should go for G Test, it may help you in getting better insurance rate.

If you need suggestion for instructor or test place, pls PM.

Guelph is a very good centre.... Avoid Oakville...

Do your homework.... Check on the net for pass/rates and fail/rates for each centre and then you will be able to make an educated choice....

I would also suggest that you go for G2..... You will surely clear and atleast be able to drive.... It solves your immediate problem..... Mobility....

Hope that helps....

Thank you for the replies. Kindly advise me if im correct here

1. ) Is the 20 hours in class important ..I mean does it decrease the insurance rate significantly for a 30 yr old experienced driver....???

2.) The Guelph dates are after a month....Is it worth it to wait , or better choose another centre? If no, then which one would u suggest ? On searching extensively I only get facts of easy test centres of 2008-2009

I have thought a lot and i feel its better to go for G2 than risk G with the date factors as well as go back to G2 as time is not with me too.

Again i would appreciate all your feedback

Remember - till you are G2 , your Insurance does not come down .. remains constant ..... it starts getting down only with G and you need to have 2 yrs driving experience with G2 ( in case you are a new driver in Canada ) before attempting G .
