Hi.. I am a foreign trained dentist and I have a PR. I live in Scarborough and I am looking for a job (preferably as a dental assistant or receptionist) but I am open to other kind of jobs too. If anybody knows or has any idea about any job openings, Please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Im sorry I cannot directly help you as I live in BC, however I wanted to recommend trying to focus your job searchy solely on dental assistant/receptionist (as you mentioned) or something else 'medical' or clinical related. Medical transcription is also in demand - work you can do from home,
Having work experience in the same or similar industry looks better on a resume, if you decide to upgrade or apply to become a Dentist in Canada.

Good luck.

If you get sucked up in low paying "any kind of jobs" expense will keep piling for the rest of your life .
I know its easy said than done but as MR advised try to focus on your field . Initially you may have more challenges but when you overcome , you will be able to recover all your loses fast .
I myself is a victim of similar situation as yours and it took several years to get back on track .

yes..thats true.. but you tell me Ashwani.. If no dentist hires you, because you've a foreign degree.. and the board examination is not until next year.. What can you do all day sitting at home doing nothing at all?? I've been doing that for the past 6 months.. I need something to keep me busy..

I can understand your frustration. Been there done that.

Enquire about the local call-centre jobs instead of working in any restaurant if you're not getting an opportunity in your field. Try to customize your resume according to the Customer Service/Support area and focus on the customer centric experience in a Dental field when you will be applying for the call-centre jobs. Here's one to start with:

They are currently hiring. Once you have a job, and some money is flowing in, you can try to get into your profession using any continuing or part time further education.

Hope it helps. All the very best for your endeavors.

" To complete the application process, you must come into the Human Resources Office to take a skills assessment and sign both the availability form and the application.

Office hours and location are:

Thank you for considering Teleperformance "
