Fido.
Even though the Australian newspaper may be bit biased against India, I still think banning the book was a ridiculous idea than and preventing him from attending is a ridiculous idea now.

And look what this moron has to say

Such events make a mockery of the concept of democracy. And I just can prevent laughing from reading about the "limits on freedom of expression".
BTW, I have started reading book (thanks to public library here and thanks to Canada for not banning the book), but his writing style didn't suit my taste and I had to return the book. But I still support Rushide and his freedom of expression.

Sad situation. Even the person he \"insulted\" in his books would have readily forgiven him.
Without doubt, the person (PBUH) would have forgiven him - but his votaries will never...
Freedom of speech comes with responsibility...one cannot say anything and then call it \"Freedom of Expression\"....there has to be limits...

It reminded me a story I read a long time back. I don’t remember the exact words but the essence is as under:
There was Fakeer sitting at his place and one man came and started saying all bad words to him. That man was a follower of other religion and had some disagreements with the Fakeer. The Fakeer stayed cool and calm – replied nothing back to him. After venting out, that man went away.
Another man, who was the follower of Fakeer, asked Fakeer why he hasn’t replied back that man in the same language. Fakeer replied to his follower that if someone come to you and offer something to you and you don’t accept it, the offering will stay with the person who has offered. In same way, that man came to me, and shouted bad words to me but I haven’t accepted his words so they will stay with him. Had I replied him in the same manner means I have accepted his words which I didn’t.
May God give wisdom to all of us.
