Let Kapil and Gavaskar come out of retirement, play for India and get a shot at the Bharat Ratna. Anyway, it is not an Indian XI, but BCCI XI, as they themselves had averred in Courts

Following is just my opinion, so apologies in advance to Sachin fans here.

Players like Sachin, Gavaskar, Shastri etc played for their personal aggrandizement first, and only then for their team and country. Don't get me wrong, they are all time greats in Indian cricket.

OTOH, players like Amarnath, Srikant, early Kapil etc. played for their team and country first and then for their personal records. Kapil later became selfish.

Shastri was never a great of Indian cricket.

Anyways, I still remember his batting on one day matches. OMG he was really slow. He was really funny (playing one day as test match).

Especially when he was batting on 49* and needing a run to reach the half century mark. It was like the beginning of every "Mahabharath" episode. "Main samay hoon" --rotating chakra, suspension of time and space, birth of the universe and Shastri still needing a single for reaching his milestone. Repeat same story at 99*. :)

Sachin should retire before he is unceremoniously kicked out of the team. He should understand that day is not far when he would be told go back and may not even a get return ticket.

He had earned enough money by playing for himself and not for team. Now is the time when he should retire and start enchanting bhajans.

Because Sachin is not able to make his century he is made a scapegoat. Who is curently performing better? Why blame him alone for the pathetic performance of whole team. The whole Indian cricket team youth/experienced including idiot management, coach needs to be retired. They should be on the payroll similar to other sports such as hockey, soccer etc.
But you know this is not going to happen, shout your guts out, Sachin will retire when he wants to, you can't do anything about it. Despite low scores, internationally he is getting standing ovation when he walks to the crease. It is so unfortunate in his own country some jerks who failed in their career are trying to put him down.

Don't try to enforce your hidden agenda of regional interests. If you cannot do great things yourself, help Sachin to make history that will make India proud for years to come.
