still some people have not gotten over their jealousy of people who earn more than they did.

There are many more who earn more than IT people. example doctors, pharmacists, professors etc.

You did not undestand my point.
if there is a profession who get the highest salary for minimum input in terms of education and work, it is IT people. Be objective. Where else would you find a M.Sc. comp sci or a M.Com from a village arts college, having a US citizenship and earning 100K +? it is not an isolated incident but a norm. Can you equate a heart surgeon in the same catagory? Do you know what sacrifice you need to become a doctor?

Bengaluru became famous / rich through IT people. Then the service widened. when IT people concentrated and made tons of money, then Builders / Architects / Engineers came to build houses for them. Malls came to provide them with stuff/ entertainment, Land owners became millionaries in a few years.

I agree now that with the saturation of IT people, salaries have come down but still they have a very good ROI with minimal effort.

Be objective and realistic. I always advice my relatives and CD's to take IT profession. It is an easy way to live. I also tried over the years to move into IT, but I could not because luck was not in my side and I have to stick to doing hard work.

Peace

Namma Bengaluru has become a traffic hell hole beyond repair in comparison to what it used to be in the past. Though from Hyderabad, I am an honorary Bangalorian myself by virtue of a branch of my family members who are originally from neighbouring districts in AP and Karnataka. I have witnessed both cities deteriorate beyond recognition.

Elmer:
Have you visited Mumbai or Delhi or Chennai recently. Those are real hellholes.
Bengaluru is better when compared to the above 3 cities. May be you are used to the retirement paradise Bengaluru of the 90's..
I have seen that the problem is not with the roads (the roads are wide enough to take the traffic) but rather that traffic tends to to held held up at the traffic light intersections and that is where the real problem is.
Still Bengaluru is much tolerable when compared to the other metro's of India.

Peace

IT is a very diverse and vast domain. It has low paying jobs as well as high paying jobs. The infrastructure and support jobs are not as shining as highly specialized jobs which need lots of extra skills. It needs logical thinking and common sense. It also needs continuous up-gradation and life-long learning to stay on the top. These are few factors making IT paying higher than other domains at present – it may not be true in future.
In seventies, there was a craze to get into civil engineering and later, I saw the worst condition of them. Remember – there is a demand and supply rule which will take care of it.

On lighter side - may be the IT professionals did good deeds in previous birth. :)
