In Canada, it doesn't happen that often. Forget the grid, what about the load-shedding for hours?

I do hope the Indian Govt should also take the similar steps which were taken by the Canadian Govt after the grid failure in 2003 and today, we have higher electricity generation than demand in Ontario.

Its not about often; even once isn't a good thing, specially when you are dealing with only 3.2crore population, with vast resources as compared to over a 1000 crores of population in India..

If Canada, gets India's population, hardly there will be any electricity left (I mean there will be blackouts everyday throughout the day)..

The per capita electric consumption in India is around 17 times less than Canada....means they use 17 times less electricity but still load shedding...it is another perspective of looking it.

India's population hasn't reached to 1000 crores yet, I think it is around 125 crores.

Don’t consider the higher population as a disadvantage. If the population is 30 time more means there is human resources 30 times more……unless they are properly utilized.

China – the most populous country is on the top of Olympic medal tally. Where is the second most populous country on the list?

I don’t want to hijack the thread so back to the topic. If Canada will get India’s population, it may becomes 30 times more prosperous in power…just another perspective.

Here we go again :D

So India's massive population coupled with scarcity of resources is whose fault? C'mon, I want to hear the full list of excuses, not just one. Let's blame some foreigners (Brits, Mughals etc etc.)

The economy is already in doldrums and now this, I'm sure foreign capital is watching this most massive blackout in the world's history.

And how is the power minister held accountable for this unprecedented failure? Why, let's give him the home ministry. But hey, not to worry. Things like accountability make no difference to a country's economic progress...
