Hi BL,

Excellent compilation of thoughts and yet another clean sweep performance. Infact you are the lifeline of Canadiandesi.ca

Jiyo MereyYaar !

In the meanwhile, I strongly feel that the following points culled out from different discussion groups need further elaboration and then implementation.

1. Have focus group meetings like - Accountants, Software Engineers.

2. Establish mentoring programs run by professionals to help people in their field of expertise.

3. Try to get group discounts for CanadianDesi members. e.g. After surveying an inn or a residence, a few senior members would negotiate a special rate for arriving Canadiandesis and those interested would stay at that place such that both parties are benefitted.

3. Creating Canadiandesi repository.

All CDs would benefit immensely once the above aspects are implemented in true spirit.

Regards.

Thanks very much for those extremely kind words Manan. But I know for a fact that we can only make this work as a team and everybody's contribution is as critical as mine.

You're right, some of these points need elaboration and eventually implementation. I'll be busy for the rest of the weekend but hoping for input from others.

The repository is an excellent idea.
I have an electric stove that is in working condition...which I'm trying to give away. Dont want it to meet the fate of the old but working refrigirator that I put out on garbage day(hoping that some needy soul would come pick it up)...which was crushed in the garbage machine in front of my wifes disbelieving eyes...what a waste!

BlueLobster:

In reference to your repository idea.

Do check out http://www.freecycle.org which operates on the same principles you propose.

There is already in place a canadiandesi yahoo group. It might be easier to just adopt the freecycle procedure rather than find a place for people to drop and pick off their articles.

Just my 2c. :)

To start such repository as a physical location might not be possible immediately (utill Chandresh's proposed CanadianDesi Houses are ready ;) )

Quite Simply I can add one more section in the classifieds as "Free Stuff" and we can just post extra stuff we have.

Hi all,

Personally I am of the view that most of the concerns could be included in the last meeting and it was really worth efforts. I hope the concerns raised there will be addressed.

With best wishes.

Vijesh

In the meantime I just uploaded some photos of today’s meeting at CD Yahoo Group. I am still working on photos and video and would upload more within few days. Please visit the following web page to see these photos:

Congrats on a very successful meeting. Great photos and everyone looked like they were having a swell time. Nice sunshine and green surroundings too.

It would be great if you could add a footage to the photograph of the whole group indicating from L to R the profile name of each person; that way it would familiarise those of us who did not attend.

Regards, Margo
