Garvo

Please see attached link from the Canadian Consulate in Delhi which stipulates that notarised copies of passport/PR/T4, etc. are required from the sponsor

http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/new-delhi/visitingcanada-en.asp#6

Although, what might be true is that they might not be insisting that sponsors provide notarised copies. What the heck if it's a free service in a library get it done :)

Thanks for the tip on libraries providing this service

Thanks Garvo. Incidentallt I didn't quite understand the purpose of the visit to the library and its connection to notarizing.
Thanks again.

You can get free notary services. Ask librarian for details.

Hi Garvo,

I called up the Brampton Library for Notary details but they said no such facility is there.

Could you please update ?

Thanks

Interesting! I live in Tornto and so always go to Toronto District Libraries. They do provide this service. Not sure about Brampton. You might call any other library and they might be providing it. Or just contact Toronto Libraries.

Some of the Not for Profit Organization do provide such service for free. I am not sure, but some churches do that also.

Hi,
I am planning to bring my in laws to visit Canada during Summer time 2005
Per prevoius posting I understood that Last Year’s Income-tax assessment notice or T4 is one of key documents which applicant need to produce to the visa officer alongwith the application
I actually started working with Canadian company only from Jan 2004 so I don't have last years T4 and as I was outside Canada in 2003 I showed very less foreign income during filing this year's tax return
My questions are
(1)Can I get ask Canadian Revenue agencies to furnich document which will show how much tax I already payed during year 2004?
(2)During what time normally employers (In Januray??)provide T4 to the employees?
(3)If I want to bring my in laws around Mid April 2005 what time they should file the application for visiter visa?Normally how much is the visiter visa processing time nowdays?
(4)Alongwith my paystub and bank statement will it be better if I produce doc related to my assets(Like car,Home etc)
(5)In the sponsorship letter how best I can describe to visa officer to convince him their stay will be temporary and will go back within next 6 months. My in laws have two daughters both are married and my wife is their elder daughter

I am little bit worried as one of my known friend tried to bring their parents and their visa was rejected

Could any one please share their experience/advice?

It is an important document, but not an absolute must.
If you don't have it, then you can't give it.
They will not refuse a visa to your relatives simply because you don't have a tax return - they look at other factors too.

It takes one day, if applied in-person, and two business days (excluding Friday) if applied via the drop-box.
For mid-April, they should apply depending on air ticket availability.
Visa will only take a day and they normally give a 6-month visa for first-time visitors.

Absolutely !
Those are very important documents (car may not be, but home is).

Just say what you said here.
Say that their visit is temporary, and you will be responsible for all their expenses during their stay.
Beyond that, it is upto them to prove that they have sufficient assets and ties in India to bring them back there.

Hope this helps.

Finally I found out Income Tax assessment notice for year 2003 but it showed net income as 0 .This is because I worked in USA between 2001 and 2003 and during filing tax return in April 2004 for the year 2003 I showed income as $O to get maximum child tax benefit.
Now my question is for applying vister visa for my in laws
Should I submit this 0 net income assessment notice?
Or I shouldn't submit this and my current assates and funds and job status doc will be sufficient.

Thanks

There are only 2 libraries in Toronto offering free notarisation of some docs. Letter of invitation is one doc wch they won't notarise. Brampton & Mississauga Lib do not provide these facilities.

For the list of docs check CHC website N Delhi.

******TO DAKS***********

where can you get notarised copies for five bucks ? Pl let us know.
