Hi Guys,
Very soon me and my family will be moving to Canada for good. We will mostly be put up in Brampton. Since I am new and don't know much about the place would ask for suggestion as in what business for a lady would be suitable. I am a mother of 2 kids and not comfortable to take up a job keeping my kids in day care etc. So want to start something of my own , where in no much capital is required and it should fetch me some decent profit.
Would like to know on this. Please Help!!!!!!
Day care.
To be very frank, I wouldn't take the risk of kids. I am a double MBA graduate in finance and International Marketing. Presently working as a Manager Operations In Dubai for a private firm. I am putting my qualification as to know if anything worth I could do.
Suggestions please!!!!!!!!!
Your double MBA means nothing in Canada.
A lot of people from Dubai think that since they got top money in Dubai they will get twice that in Canada.,
The situation is not like that. There is a lot of unemployment in Cananda and even the local whites are not able to get jobs.
Only IT opening are there.
Finance/ accounting is another place where there are openings. But we will have to compare your skills to find if you will fit.
Peace by Murali

Thanks for your response. I know tht ppl are unemployed. And whether it is white or black , we see it as a country. So according to you white ppl should be treated first and then come the rest of the world. Good to know. Anyways, I manage my job here in dubai as I have a maid and my mom to take care of my kids and they are no more toddlers.
So I think this was not the rite place for me to ask for suggestion, probably I shd be on the white peoples forum.
Thanks Muraliji.
In Canada - Canadians must come first. Nothing wrong with it. The statement was not derogatory to you/Indians in any way.
When one puts up a question on a public forum - there will be responses from all kinds of people. Mostly these responses will come from their own experiences.
Give yourself time to understand this place, the people, the culture, the language. You will find a mix of people here - some people have good experiences and some people are crushed. You will hear of doctors driving cabs and Phd's working in Pizza Pizza.
People coming to Canada are mostly immigrants - who first come here and then find jobs. When they are unable to find jobs meeting their own qualifications - it leads to frustrations.
I know of 2 of my friends - both of them extremely qualified - unable to find jobs - cutting down on experience / qualification so that they can be suitable even for a job at Tim Horton's. Sadly, they have been unsuccessful.
That is not to say that everyone isn't. For every failure - we can find success.
Business here can be tricky. You will need to understand liabilities and insurance. Everyone would like such an ideal business - low capital - decent profit. Stay at home - look after the kids. Suggestions will usually range from babysitting to tiffin service to Internet marketing, real estate, Amway, Avon etc.
All the best! Hope you find success.
