The officer at port of entry CANNOT give you visa - he only stamps the authorised duration of stay during that visit. The validity of the VISA is as per the sticker on your passport - based on your post looks like 10 years.
You should have no problem for your flight via NY.
Bon Voyage.

you have a 10 yr US visit visa . What you get at the border is a entry authorization indicting the days you are allowed to stay. That is called I -94. Usually issued for 6 months.
Pls understand that border official do not give visa when you go there. they verify the VISA and give you authorization ( I-94) to stay in US for a temporary period.
The purpose of I-94 is to return upon exiting US. However travelers from Canada ( US visa holders) tend to keep it so when they travel the next time within 6 months, there is no need to take another I-94.
Case 1 -- if you are traveling before the I-94 expires, you will have no issues travelling via New York to India. You need to answer some questions like why are you taking this route, where do you work, when will you return etc.
Case 2 --If your I-94 expires by the time you travel ( which appears the case) you need to take another I-94 . This means every question as above plus, additional 1 hr time to issue the I-94.
Prepare as per your situation

PRE BOARDING AND CLEARANCE HERE AT PEARSON INTERNATIONAL.
If you get to the airport an hour earlier, you can pre clear to USA with the US Immigration and fly right through at all transfer points, without any hassles. Talk with the Travel Agent. Get some directives from him.

Pre-clearance by US Customs is a mandatory process at many airports in Canada including Pearson. The flight into the US is then treated as a domestic flight. Please allow enough time to get to the airport and such.
The paper I-94 form has been eliminated. Instead, an electronic record is maintained. The individual can visit the USCIS/CBP website and print the I-94 if they so wished.
Having said that, paper I-94s are still being issued for certain type of entrants (ex: Advance Parolees....people who have their Green Card AOS process in progress). Also, many airports and/or POEs are still transitioning. So, don't be surprised if you get or not get a paper I-94.
At the POE (whether it be at pre-clearance at Pearson or otherwise), your passport is stamped with the validity of stay in the US and that is usually no more than 6 months, regardless of what the stamped visa validity is.
