As India drubbed WI by an innings, Sachin had to bid goodbye as he could not bat again. It was an emotional moment for him and others. Both Dhoni and Kohli carried him for a distance. Great contribution to Indian cricket.

Playing against the off-spin, scooping the ball to first slip when it is in place, is not something any coach will be proud of. An analysis and remark by world's so called greatest sports critic! The remarks would have been completely different if R Ashwin or E Prasanna etc was given such a praise.

Do not agree with you at all, but seems like you are saying he was carelessly scooping catches and it took 74 runs for the WI team to catch one practice catch OR what you wrote is pure bull shit.

Here is a “secular” party , questioning award to Sachin. I am sure you would have huge dilemma. Support secular party or stick to your love for Sachin. To complicate the matters further, communal party Shiv Sena has same view as yours – Supporting Sachin. LOL!

There is no need to be a sports critic, let alone world's greatest. These titles are reserved for somebody else and his foolhardy fans.
Any schoolboy, who is bothered his coach's comments would tell you,
Usually, he goes for hitting towards leg side for a ball pitched on the off and middle to leave no doubt in the mind of the umpire when the ball hits the pads.
It is no surprise that because his 74 are very many runs for such fans that God starts playing such shots. Still we do not doubt his run scoring ability though past his best.
But it is his attitude regardless of the situation in which the team finds itself.
Otherwise, the recent total whitewash in England and Australia would not have happened. He could have saved at least one match if he was such a great God.
In the same breath, I am very grateful to Dhoni for bringing victories from hopeless situations. The same cannot be said about the God, but he has a PRO working overtime.
Never in my lifetime, I wish such a horror happens to Ashwin or the greatest Off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna or for that matter to Dhoni.
The reason being Bharath Ratna has been started being issued as a retirement benifit like PF and gratuity.

YES ... he became cricket god for many Indians.
But one thing is sure. Many chances were given to him than many other players which helped him to become what he is today. Materialistically speaking, he really managed very well to his success.
