There was this Test statistic on God. Out of the 200 tests played, India had won 72 and lost 56. It would be interesting to know how many of the 72 were won after Dhoni took over the captaincy. Of these 56, remember many matches were all we have to do was bat out a session or two and the match would have been drawn. There was this match where one of our batsman scored a triple century, (Shewag against SA?) and India about 550, but we still lost. If it was God actually playing Two down, would we have lost it?
There is reason to accept the hype created, if India 's losses were only 36 (half of 72), if not nil or not even not 18.
Honesty alone is not cricket. Humility too is cricket. The man should not have allowed crass commercialization and sycophancy to happen on his name.

Thats an issue, wins or losses being linked to an individual and not team. I'll blame Sachin only if he is bowling, batting and keeping full time in whole match and then India looses. Anyway Bharat Ratna is given for individual achievement and is well deserved in his case for making India proud for being what he is. World recognize that, refuting such a reality defies common sense.

I would rate Sunny far better for he ALWAYS played under tremendous pressure and expectations.
Very true. Those days, they never had the luxury of physio, separate coaches for batting, bowling, fielding and other special trainers. All they had was a retired test cricketer as manager.
Nowadays, they even a hire psycho who teaches how to let out a scream when the opposite team batsman gets out.

For a second, i thought i was reading a fake article from The Onion.
Taliban says, "Even though Tendulkar is a great sportsman you should not praise him, as it is against the national interests of the country.
"Instead you should praise Misbah despite the fact that he is a pathetic player, because he is ultimately a Pakistani."

At least, they agreed that Misbah is a pathetic player :-)
