There are only a few institutions that participate and promote these kinds of awards. One such award is Duke of EdinburgH Award, which I should know better. So, please see the qualifying requirements and the required time of stay there, prior to jumping into the foray.

Some of the Principals and the schools could have their own preferred candidates in their schools, the reason being, they are the BLUE EYED and a chosen few.

You might work your but off and try to make a go of it. Success depends upon the quantity of butter you can apply at the proper time and location and to one who will push forth your candidate.

There are other awards of excellence, your query does not elucidate that.

Do remember that nothing is lost unless you try for it and then lose it afterwards. I mean well and wish your daughter all the best and strive and achieve her desired goals in life with all the support from you and the family. I also know that you will do your best with all your efforts, with all of the incidentals and with the cummunity support, logistics or otherwise, entering the picture.
