Hi All,
This thing has been lingering in my mind for quite sometime so I thought it is a nice place to share or discuss. I am curious to know how many of you came across Random Act of kindness? like person(before you) paying for your coffee or carrying your baggage up the stairs what was the act?How did you feel? Did you feel you should do the same to someone else?
When we switch to a new channel all I hear and see is people getting killed,
raped,mayor drunk,animals abused etc. I have never seen or heard nice things
that happen in this beautiful world(apart from the nasty things)
I feel spreading kindness is a great way to create love and harmony among us.
Hey...some of you might have started thinking if I belong to any religion which I want to promote? or if I have any business .....hold your horses....
This is just a sincere effort to bring out kindness from within us .
Imagine this planet would be a better place to live if this could be spread.
So tell me what would you like to do or if you came across as kindness.

Prince, I know you well enough, so I can safely say, that this is no business promotion etc.
Personally, I haven't experienced any random acts. I've been travelling by public transit everyday to downtown for the past 15 years. The trip takes me approx. 1 hr each way (1 bus & 2 trains), but never experienced any random acts on my way.
But here's what I've experienced:
1. Struggling to start my snow blower, my neighbor comes over with his and clears my snow. Can't say if that could be termed as a random act, since we know each other and help each other regularly.
2. I do have other acts, but those are from neighbors, and I won't count that
On the contrary, here's what I've given:
1. Offered seats on the transit (most common)
2. Assisted in carrying the stroller up / down stairs at subway stations
3. Gone to the extent of taking a detour to show people where they wanted to go (as opposed to just showing them the way)
4. Assisted in carrying peoples bags / groceries up / down at the subway station, while walking from the bus stop to my home. Mind you I don't know these people, they live somewhere in the neighborhood.
5. Paid for peoples transit fare
6. Given a ride to people (no strangers please), provided I'm heading in that direction. Well, I shouldn't say - no strangers, 'cause I did it once - on my way from Windsor to Toronto, I stopped to assist someone stranded on the side of the highway, around Mississauga. These people had a flight to catch and were getting late. I offered to go out of my way to drop them at the airport.
7. Stopped on the freeway to assist people stranded

Awesome sudesh ji,
This is exactly what I mean.
Helping a neighbour is sure an act of kindness as there are few ppl who turn their backs.
Offering a seat is sure kindness as you could be rude and ignore the senior or pregnant women.
Keep doing it!
I really feel there should be a news channel where they talk about good things which can influence/inspire ppl just like ppl get inspired by shootings etc.
Anyways,anyone else who encountered Random Act of Kindness?

I recently experience these well intended acts ( not sure if they come under kindness)
a. While visiting SV Temple Pittsburgh Saturday , I left my car key on the ground and was sweating when I reached the car and realized I was missing the key ... shit it would take a couple of hours now at least .... the security guy called me from above and asked me to collect the keys from the office.. he mentioned that the cleaner reported the key to the office and he checked which car it belonged to ...
A similar thing repeated at the rest room of Grove City Premium Outlets while returning ... this time the wallet accompanied the car key .. 
... I realized this in 2 minutes but when I reached back the family rest room the belongings were gone .... Oh man .. what was I to do if some one had taken them .... I raced to the security and they said their GM found the things and they had already announced for it .... Relieved ...
Now I recall similar thing happened in Dubai 3 years back ... when I went back to the shop for my wallet , not expecting it to be there , the shop keeper returned it to me ...
I doubt if my experience would have been same in India.
I know what you must be thinking by now .. I m a habitual loser of wallet..
Well on an occasion I found a cell phone on my building floor and called the last few no.s to return it to its owner .... Guess what - some one else returned me the favor 4 days later when I left my cell phone on a bench near the office .... what goes around , comes around !!!

I had a friend loose a MacBook Pro in a rickshaw recently in Mumbai. The rickshaw driver promptly returned it to the rickshaw union and refused even a reward until my friend insisted.
I had a new pair of shoes stolen when I entered a place of worship and a total stranger hired a rick right to the entrance of this place of worship, so that I didn't have to walk barefoot.
Anyway this is a nice thread started....PAY IT FORWARD!!!!

Well said Indiarocks angels are everywhere(just like the bad guys are)
I have seen some inspiring stories about some ppl in India and it makes me very happy.
Do we all ever sit down for a minute and think selflessly....not about us,family,friends
Just to make a stranger smile? I do sit and think(which is no good) but never dared to do anything going out of my comfort zone.Iam sure we all have helped someone in one or the other way but do we do it for strangers?
