We have a provincial election in Ontario coming up on June 12.
Opinion polls currently show the Liberals leading in the Toronto area where a lot of desis are based.
The leader of the Liberals is a lesbian who has promised the gay community that she will remake the educational curriculum to teach young children about anal sex and alternative genders (ie children will be taught that they are not boys or girls but that they can be one of seven different genders).
Her advisor for education (Benjamin Levin) has been charged with pedophilia.
Are desis voting for Kathleen Wynne?
If so, why?

I am undecided - Dont support the liberals but cannot see any good leadership traits in Hudak. It is a pity that despite such a poor Liberal record, the opposition still has only an outside chance (minority govt.). Speaks volumes of the choices.
Never a fan of NDP and the unions.
I dont support Wynne - but it is not due to her sexuality. IMHO, the leaders of this party should have been in jail by now - wonder why they are not!!
Would like to see an highly charged debate here on this topic like the one for Indian elections short while ago..
Need a reason to support either one of these.

Dear Motr ji,
1) Maybe it's because "gay community" or "homosexuals" do not pose a threat to our society as much as religious fundamentalists who seek to destroy societies and communities around the world as seen in Pakistan, Syria, Central Africa etc.
2) You seem to really have a thing or two against the Gay community. why?
3) Shall we stone them as prescribed in the "holy book"? Please advice.

Nothing against the gay community Rajagopal ji. I don't care what people do in their own bedrooms.
I just have a problem when a lesbian wants to teach my children about gay sex at a young age against my wishes.
Motr: I looked up for some info on the gay curriculum you mentioned above. I see a reference on Toronto star as follows:
http://www.thestar.com/life/parent/2010/04/20/changes_to_sexed_curriculum_raise_ire_of_family_groups.html
1) sexual health experts say "material is age-appropriate and reflects students’ lives". In other words, if someone with the right information does not tell the kids, they will pick it up from their friends and smutty magazines, of course, behind our backs.
2) How many of us on CD have had that conversation with our kids? probably a handful. I much prefer my kids getting the information from authoritative figures like teachers than from porn sites.
3) Premier Dalton McGuinty played down McVety’s concerns on Tuesday, saying “either we can provide (this information) in a format and in a venue where we can have some control or they can get it on their own and be informed by potentially uninformed sources like their friends at school” or the Internet.
4) Lance McCready, of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, said “progressive educators” talk about homosexuality in terms of diverse families.
“It's not talking about sexual practices . . . it’s basically saying that it’s not right to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation or sexual identity.”
Rajagopal:
1. Who are these "Sexual Health Experts"? What material are they referring to as "Age appropriate" and "Reflecting student lives".
They are proposing to teach 11 year olds about anal sex. Do you know 11 year olds who are having anal sex? (in reference to the content 'reflecting student lives').
2. The question is where does it stop? A gay teacher in Toronto was teaching 11 year old boys to give bl*w jobs.
The title of material that he circulated to kids was "If you like to F*ck".
Do you want that?

3. Premier Dalton McGuinty eventually withdrew the curriculum, so the newspaper article that he was 'playing down' the criticism is irrelevant.
Facts are this: Kathleen Wynne was Education Minister. She introduced an extremist curriculum to schools. Parents criticized her for it and Dalton withdrew the curriculum. As Premier she has been promising gay organizations that she will reintroduce the curriculum when she has a majority government.
