I need to have OCI transferred to new passport.

Hearing all the bad publicity about BLS in the media, I am afraid to approach them.

If someone has had any recent dealings with them, would you mind sharing so I can be prepared accordingly and thus know what to expect.

Since you don't have a choice, the only way to smoothen the process is to do the same as you did when applying for OCI, i.e. have the same documents ready.

This just occurred to me. I renewed my Cdn. Passport a month ago, and still need to endorse it on my existing PIO. Thanks for a chance reminder.

Strangely, when I go to BLS site, I don't see any form listed for Vancouver location. I think I need to call them:

Jurisdiction PIO New Booklet PIO Endorsement
Checklist Form Checklist Form
Toronto Click here Click here Click here Click here
Vancouver Click here Click here Click here NA
Ottawa Click here Click here Click here Click here

What the heck does it mean? Would these companies, or Indian Govt. ever, I mean EVER make things easy and information legible for people?

I visited the BLS office in Toronto few times in the last couple of years and found them to be efficient with what they have to deal with. The process that is currently in place for OCI is complicated. The BLS staff are there to just make sure that the process is followed. I dont believe, as a sub contractor, they can revamp the entire process. If you treat them like you treat someone at the Passport Canada office, you shouldn't have any issues. The file submission is in the morning and pickup is in the afternoon between 3 and 5. When I last visited, there was this lady shouting that injustice happened to her as she was asked to come back another day as she missed her appointment. It seems like she took the token to submit the document at 10:00 am, seeing the line-up went home and came back at 3:30 pm saying that she got delayed due to traffic. Once the staff said that they cannot accept applications after 2:00 pm, she went ballistic. Now, if you are in customer service and you get treated like this few times a day, imagine what state one would be.

Just be prepared, have spare copies of all documents, have all originals with you and be prepared to go atleast one or 2 extra times.

If for any reason your application gets stuck in NewDelhi, there is an email address you can use to escalate. My daughters application was in NewDelhi for 4 months and only got released after we escalated. Let me know if anyone needs it.

If anyone is under 50 - they don't need to transfer the OCI sticker onto the new PP. You can travel with current PP + PP with OCI sticker on it.

Best to avoid BLS as much as possible.
