THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION AND YOUR VIEWS WITH BSL OFFICE BRAMPTON.
I HAVE QUESTION, dURING SUBMITTING APPLICATION, WHETHER CANADIAN PASSPORT IS TO BE SUBMITTED AND IF YES THAT HOW LONG THEY KEEP IT WITH THEM.
2ND - I AM PLANNING TO GO INDIA ON 3RD WEEK OF DECEMBER 2014, IS IT GOOD TO APPLY FOR OCI, OR I HAVE TO GO FOR TOURIST VISA.
IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ME IN THE MATTER, THANKS IN ADVANCE.
1) Your current Canadian Passport will be returned after checking it out, right away at the time of submission of application.
2) The whole process should take around 60 days so if you apply now, there is strong possibility that you will get the OCI in 1st or 2nd week of Dec.
Take all documents specified in the checklist with an extra copy of all of them.

Your Canadian PP will be returned back immdediately after verification over the counter.
All the other documents will be sent to the embassy for verification , both originals & photocopy.
It usually takes 60 days, if everything is OK . But I wouldn't take a chance , it might take much longer than that.
They make their own rules as they go along, so expect them to find some vague, minor , ambiguous things which is not listed anywhere on their website or forms, and expect the usual attitude.
Apply for a PIO instead , its much faster about a month.
Go to India & come back & then convert your PIO to OCI at a nominal cost & at your own leisure.
