Congratulations Dimple2001.. That's great news, thanks for sharing. It is heartening to know at least 1 CD is involved in 'constructive' activity. .
Is the robot part of the same league? One of my friend's son participated in the FIRST robotics challenge couple of years ago and they qualified for the finals competition. That was a similar activity as you mentioned above, they had to design and construct a robot from a given set of items with specific functions and limitations on size. Eventually the robots had to take part in a competition. The team whose robot scored the most points were awarded. Points were awarded for speed, accuracy, adaptability and overall performance. Quite exciting for high school kids (10th grade) and excellent exposure to scientific concepts, team work and project execution.
Wish you good luck in your next project...

Congrats, Dimple! Nice work!
My daughter's lego fanaticism continues to grow (in the Lego friends area). I find myself dropping more and more g's every now and then on the bigger sets :-). Very happy with it though, so much better than Barbie dolls IMHO...

This sounds interesting. I am quite a handyman of the house with a deep interest in Electro/Mechanical. With my son growing up (almost 3), and showing the same shades of interests I think this would be great add-on towards his skills.
Thanks Dimple and a good job. I am certainly going to look into it.
Thank you. For younger children, Lego has many components - gears, pulleys, spools, etc - to create a "junior" level moving part models. If you want something fancy, you can buy a battery-motor pack which comes with a battery, motor and a switch. For beginners, it's thrilling.
