Jake I think I answered your question too, isn’t it?

Not really but I'll fill in theblanks and you can correct me.

So basically we ALL agree on this 'SACH'. You just have an issue with people emphasizing on it( as you say 'too much'...which brings us to 'how much is too much'...maybe another time :p ).
Could be that you yourself, being a +ve personality, do not need this to be emphasized. Maybe others do? How do you know about the people who have been writing to us to say how they agree with our thoughts? Maybe just like the people complaining to you(if any) that they are tired of this talk about +ve thinking.

Anyway, the important thing is:

We do have the 'SACH' finally

:D

Bio, there's another thing too. When you're sorrounded by difficulties (I know I have been in situations like these), its not easy to see the way out yourself. You may have all the knowledge of the world, but your judgement is clouded by fear, emotion and worry, and there's not much you can do about it.

At times like these, you need some reassurance from someone else. You need to be reminded that there is light at the end of the tunnel and you will get there with hard work, and that you may be better off approaching the light with a smile on your face.

A lot of people on this forum express their frustration and bitterness at the Canadian system and those emotions are a direct response to their experiences here. Maybe a lot of them started out positive but now the frustration is getting the better of them. Don't you think its prudent to remind them to stay on track?

Positive attitude by itself means nothing, we all know that it needs to be accompanied by a lot of hard work. And I whole-heartedly disagree with anyone who claims that it only works in Canada but I haven't seen anybody saying that yet.

My point is we all have the option of attempting to reach our targets with either a bitter mind or an cheerful demeanour, in which case I would choose to pick the latter. I find that for several reasons, success favors those who do the same.

And finally, even with all the positive attitudein the world and all the hard work, you may still fail in your endeavours. The beauty of staying positive is that you'll brush it off and start again.

Since this topic is becoming more humorous than serious because of its nth time cyclic occurance .... i'd like to propose using the term "POPAT"...it adds to the humourous tone.

POPAT tho it may sound like a bihari term it is actually .... the short of "Power Of Positive Attitude & Thoughts" :D

*********************************************
* Can someone define the positive attitude?
**********************************************

I would strongly recommend that people who want to learn more about positive atitude, self-image and its impact on our lives read this book which is a classic. It really helped me in my job hunt.

The New Psycho-Cybernetics: The Original Science of Self-Improvement and Success That Has Changed the Lives of 30 Million People by Maxwell Maltz.

Or you can read Thomas Alva Edison's biography by Matthew Josephson.

I read it whenever I'm feeling down, it does wonders for me. Highly recommend it for those who're struggling.

Looks like positive attitude is becoming the most disliked term on this site. Just a search found atleast 10 threads dedicated to it in different discussions.:) but anyway it is a different flavour everytime.!!

Thanks a lot BL, I do appreciate the way you have written, it is very much clear and to the point and of course I do agree with your point of view.

I did not initiate this thread to know about positive attitude or to show my dislike towards positive attitude. What I noticed in the forum that quite a few of us suggest others to have positive attitude and the way it is suggested sometime give the impression that positive attitude is the number one requirement to become a successful person in Canada, which is not right.

Because of the POPULARITY of POSITIVE ATTITUDE talk some members hold back their valuable thoughts as they don’t want to be labeled as negative thinkers or people with negative attitude.

Once again thanks for a decent and mature response.
Regards.
Biomed
