HI CD's
my Friend applied for Canada immigration from Delhi-India
he lived in US more than 6 months in past.
now Canadian Embassy asking him to provide FBI report
In India usually they ask police Clarence certificate but if you lived in US in past(more than 6 months) then they ask for FBI report.
How we can get a FBI report in India ?
anyone has any experience getting it & how long it takes ?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND ALSO SEE IF THERE IS A CHANNELER IN INDIA WHO WILL.... DO IT FOR A FEE.
Before you do anything run a few good copies of the letter that demands the FBI Clearance Certificate. YOU WILL NEED THE ORIGINAL, when you approach a channeler. And who are they??... see below

There are FBI finger print cards, which you will need, and they are available from them.
These Finger prints have to be taken by approved LOCAL POLICE CENTERS THERE in INDIA. Ask the channeler....
If you provide a copy of your old and new PASSPORT and send it by courier and with a pre paid way bill, for EXPRESS RETURN, you will get it back with in six to eight weeks, back from the USA. The last known costs were $18. But they have changed the process, so expect a few weeks delay and also extra fees too. I am not able to find them as this hits the mail.
When you submit your clearance certificate, you have to submit the ORIGINALS to CIC.
always keep a copy for your files.

Canadian Embassy in Colombo gave him 30 days only ?
strange thing is that he is an indian citizen, live in Delhi but his file moved to Colombo-Srilanka...because CHC-Delhi seems very busy.
CHC-in Colombo is not very good when he ask some questions by email.
so first he need to do finger prints with above private agency & then he need to fill form & send directly to FBI or this agency will do everything ?

You could have given all of this information in your first post. That would have given us a better and clear picture as to how I can go about doing my search.
HERE IS another post and Link. Please read it thoroughly and do your own DD (Due Diligence) and see if they can help your friend who is currently living there in SRILANKA. Also he might need a Police Clearance Certificate from SriLanka also, if his stay there exceeds six months. But get one any way, just to be on the safe side.
