and still got glued to CD for all these years.

Not necessarily Chandresh.
He might have googled and CD might have come at the top of his search due to individuals like me, HW36 and Adamthorat.

There might have been many like the OP who might have considered their children to study in US/Aus/NZ/UK/Germany/France and Can and the OP might have seen Canada as the best one for his child. So it is still a probability game. He has a doubt is his daughter will get visa due to his previous PR. Perfectly understandable.

To the OP:
You must put Yes. and if there is space to eloborate, you should type "due to parents PR". There is a possibility that they will call her for an interview as this is federal policy. When something is being violated, then an interview is essential. Otherwise she will be treated as per the book. So no need to worry.

Not sure if I should tell you this but did you consider Germany? There is no tution fee and you will save quite a bundle. Many of my friends have managed with English.

Chandresh I appreciate your observations and the sentiments you conveyed which I partly concur.

I didn't continue to stay in Tornoto 12 years ago just to keep my children away from western environment as I realized and felt it was challenging for my me and wife to do that and hence took such a drastic decision (U-turn). I am also not among those who would fabricate through other means to continue their ties and residency with Canada to seek immigration. My intention was clear as immigration was never a do or die situation for me - all thanks to Almighty.

Now as mentioned my daughter is grown up and has offers in Universities like Wisconsin -Madison, Purdue, Public Ivy Michigan-Ann Arbor and (UBC- Vancouver with partial scholarship). She is expecting to hear from Toronto , Berkley and Ivy Cornell. I am just trying to see all possibilities. US educations VS Canadian schools and long term chances of working for her.

I know I am digressing from the initial topic but would welcome to hear your advices too.

I don't know how Chandresh's post is relevant to the OP .

The Q is - daughter has had PR in the past is no more a PR and wishes for admission to Canadian Univ.

As already answered , no impact on the admission process .

For that reason every Visa application is looked at afresh. Even if your Visa has been rejected in the past , and your circumstances changed , you can re apply and it will be seen afresh.

Even for International students , Canadian education is cheaper than US - for PRs / Citizens , it is cheaper than regular International students.

That being the case Sajmad, why are you sending your daughter to the west now? In my view, if she had been here from childhood, she would have adjusted here much better than she would now (and same goes with you - if she changes after coming here). It is very obvious that she has grown in a very protective environment (where the parents did not want her to be exposed to the western culture/environment) and so all of a sudden she would be exposed to what has been imprinted in her mind as "wrong" during her growing up years. The very thing that she had been kept away from (in your own words), she would now see it when she is at a age when children in any case want their freedom - even if you have given enough to them!

By being protective for 12 years and now sending her to the west - there are more chances of you getting a shock or disappointment after a few years than you might think of (oh I have raised my girl in a particular manner and so she will not do this and that) - because if she does not become western after coming here, she will not be liked by her peers!!

My 2 cents!

I find Chandresh's post digressing .....

For one it is not answering any of the OP s qs and sprouting another set of qs which are neither asked for nor relevant to the OP .

It is something like ... 'You have had a divorce before , why are you remarrying ' ?

That's a dumb q to ask .

The OP may be having his own reasons ... or may be the daughter wants to have higher studies abroad and it may be her decision as much as 12 years back , it was his decision. I think as a father the OP is being supportive to her daughter's wish. Circumstances change.

Who are we to q their decisions or provide rationale ???

If one wants to help , please answer the q asked by the OP .. simple ... why digress irrelevantly ?

And then you are the one who commented that at CD now a days people do not answer qs helpfully :)

If she is going to pay International student fees in Canada , then you might as well send her to the best
university from the ones listed above , whether its US or Canada.

Since neither you or her has any affiliation for or attraction for Canada, send her to the best University..US or Canada.

Now if she was a PR & was going to pay much much less PR fees then UBC was a NO brainer :) Why pay $ 25,000/yr , when you can pay $ 5,000/yr in tuition fees ?..but that option is no longer available to you.

The MO of people who come here from Gulf with small kids is to stay here for 3-4 yrs , take CDN Citizenship for the entire family & then go back to Gulf , where salaries are better & tax free.

Weather is also NOT bad & India is also close..from Gulf. Plus whatever money they save is sent back to India & mostly invested in Real Estate & Rental properties, in India or maybe even stocks.

Then when their kids are 18-19 , send them back to Canada for higher education like University education, & their fees are less as they are CDN citizen as oppossed to international students.

I know a family from Dubai, who came here with 2 small kids , who did just that. The woman was a teacher in Dubai , when she came here. After coming here, she found out the hard way that she is NOT going to get a job as a teacher, its a long & tedious & expensive process , plus there are NO guarantees after that.

So she & her family went back to Dubai after 3 years & after taking CDN Citizenship. Now she is a PRINCIPAL in a school in DUBAI !!! ..Can you believe that ! ..& she couldn't even get a job as a teacher over here ..LOL. They have company flat , company car , tax free salary , plus maids & servants in Dubai. They also make short trips to India , as Dubai is not that far & tkts NOT that expensive. All this would have been impossible in Canada :)

Her kids can now always come back here for a higher education or go anywhere else on a CDN PP :)
Their fees will be very low in Canada now due their CDN citizenship :)

Well Played Dubai Teacher ! Je Suis Dubai Teacher !
