These are only a few helpful suggestions for students who are planning to immigrate to Canada as a Student.
1. Get into an educational program in Canada that would benefit you in getting a job here and settle down.
2. Check out for the money, if you enroll into a program that is very expensive and takes lot of duration then the cost of living and studying both eventually turns out to become out of your budget, this will lead you to stop the program and return back to India.
3. First check which are the most demanding jobs here in the Canadian job market.
4. Get into an educational institution which provides you with solid assistance in finding a job, there are lot of institutions here in Canada that would first tell you that they will provide you with job assistance but only one where my sister did the program will really help you in finding a job, she did her Esthetics program and got into North York General Hospital within three weeks after she completed her program in xxxx College.

Very good info. but often misleading.
I would take Canadian statistics with a grain of salt.
Your best references are your seniors. Seniors by even 1 year. They will tell you the ground reality of the course.
For example, I helped a person who was doing a 1 year course at Senaca at York. I was skeptical at his one year course. The course was digital media. He said that his senior (by 1 year) was doing the course and though job oppertunities at the end of the program was not guarenteed, he badly wanted to do it. He told me that his senior's senior, who graudated last year was working in a factory for $ 12 an hour while he was looking for a job.
I was trying to find him a $ 300 a month room but he said that his senior was staying in a $ 200 per person unit near Senaca York univ (6 in a apartment).
So this is how you build contacts.

get an approved LMIA
Don't worry about student who comes here for college graduations... their motive is simply to come here and get PR ( in most cases) - but Yes, higher education people are serious ( mister, PHD's)
I deal with lot of students on daily basis and most just want to get PR and most of them are aware of the situation here in Canada ( it's just craze of Canada brings them here )

Canadian craze is reducing very fast.
Oil price structure is on a terminal decline..
Loonie is an a freefall..
Wrong, an Indian who craves to fly (and live) abroad , do not count on oil price or loonie tumble. Go do a survey in Punjab. Majority of students who come to Canada or Australia , do not come to study. They are in hunt of PR. Trend will only increase , craze will continue.
Does anyone know of universities that let you work from day 1 like those in US providing day 1 CPT to work? For such universities, the classes are held online which makes it easier to work in IT consultancy companies.
