I don't know what are the cuts they want to make. Also not knowing how overall the movie is - is it going to help people to get rid of drugs, is it showing the dark side of all going on? It is showing entire Punjab in a bad spirit? And more importantly it is showing the administration and government as a responsible party for this issue? Is that is the case, it is definitely worth asking for cuts.

Movie dramatization are always exaggerations and it can leave a bad impression on the mind of people. However I don't support so much strict actions against the movie. Let it be there, people are much more responsible and can judge things as is, then we think.

I have met many Punjabi over the last 10 years and most have expressed their concerned for this drug abuse. However none ever blamed the government for it. It is a mind set of the younger generation of the people. The Governments only failure is to control and I don't know enough about it to comment.

I also keep hearing about SAD and Badals are so bad. No Idea how it is so? Any major scams? Mismanagement?

People also say BJP should fight election on it's own. It is possible?

I do not know the political situation in Punjab but strongly feel that movies should not be politicised .......... If AK promoted or contributed to a movie that is wrong as much as it is wrong for the Govt to censor it unfairly.

In the end it is a work of fiction and may or may not depict the true situation .. We have the violence & injustice fighting hero from time immemorial - Does it mean that violence or injustice has stopped ...

For sure movie is a medium of getting thoughts across to public but then the public is smart to make a movie hit or flop by their approval or lack of it .

The trailer looks very good, looks like a well made movie. If it also sends a good message and brings public awareness, whats wrong with it.

After Ashoke Pandit, another Censor Board member Chandramukh Sharma come out against the functioning of its chief Pankaj Nihalani, saying he would request him to go to the government and ask for changing the name of CBFC to ?PRO of government?.




It is very sad that the Courts have to undo the wrong doings of the Authorities / Govt... we saw it in Uttranchal , Delhi and now this .... misuse of power.

What is freedom of speech? Is it a licence to speak whatever you want to speak as long as it is overtly or covertly against the BJP or its allies? The film Udta Punjab is based on half truth. It simply gives the impression that the problem of drug is confined to Punjab and is due to the failure of the Punjab Government. Half truth is more dangerous than lies. It is definitely going to harm the ruling party in Punjab. Anurag should have focused on other places too such as Delhi.
