BTW, one of the co-producer is a member of AAP. Is it true? Nothing wrong being one, nothing wrong in making a movie for an AAP member. Only question is - how neutral the movie would be. On one hand, you didn't know what the issue was all about, on other you just dragged AAP with just a hearsay on Social Media. The duality clearly shows. When we all have been talking about the issues that's been gripping Punjab and the role of the incumbent Govt. (yes, it involves BJP too) in fueling the same, you unnecessarily, without an iota of proof; and with your obsession with anything AAP just spewing anything off your head without being utterly objective. Not that, it has ever been expected from you.

You tell me, Sir. Have you watched Kya kool hein hum 2, Mastizade, and the immensely vulgar movies that have been passed (not that I care at all) by the Chief? Right on the onset, it was a fight from the Producer of the movie against the cuts. I mean, censoring the words - MP, Elections, Constituency, Cities' names, Dog's name, etc.? Are you really kidding me? I can understand the censoring of the swear words, but this?
The fight was for the Product, yes completely agree. And, I don't see any issue with that. If this encompasses the concept of Freedom of Expression, then so be it and which is completely justified. It was not the Producers, but the Chief made sure it gets the maximum exposure and ensured the movie's biggest ever opening. The movie, otherwise would've come and gone, even have been a bigger hit but never gathered that momentum to make it even a bigger blockbuster.

Irrelevant. No creative mind and intellectual engaged in stone pelting here. That's exactly what he did and the Producers took him to Court. If you don't know at whose behest he censored the movie, then either you are ignorant, or just want to keep your eyes closed. Even the BJP Govt said (Jaitley, etc.) that it's not within CBFC's mandate to censor movies, rather just certify.

What kind of the world Nihalani has been living in when he doesn't have a good record to even be qualified for the post? Here, sample some of the lyrics of the movie (Andaz) he made in his hay days:

kab se tere dar pe khada hey"
Another one:
"Lelo lelo mera....Imtehaan"
Here is one more:
"Main maal gaadi, tu dhakka laga"
Now, it's all clear as to what did they mean: Lelo mera, Khada hey, Dhakka laga, etc. Kya lelo, kya khada hey, and kisey dhakka lagao - I am sure you got it.
Utterly rubbish and vulgar lyrics. But, you are right - that, my dear friend was akin to spoil the minds of the young and impressionable. By the way, this movie (Andaz) was never granted the Adult certificate.

Like in the case of the appointment of the FTII, Pune Head, of Gajendra Chauhan, Nihalani's appointment was also not received well by the so called liberals and intellectuals. Assuming CPM comes to power at the Centre, will they appoint an Anupam Kher for these posts. They may appoint someone like Arundhati Roy or Teesta satelwad. Therefore, one of the reasons for the dispute is the basic dislike for BJP and their appointees for these quasi-government posts.
Does the Bombay HC not have more important cases or no case at all. Recently the CJI of SC even broke down and wept during a function, regarding the over work at the various courts. But these celebrities involved cases are taken up out of turn whereas those of ordinary people have to wait eternally. That there is no corruption involved in courts for cases to be taken out of turn, only those in the profession can elaborate.

I agree with you, but I think I heard they have a separate courts for these cases as it is time bound. Not sure how much is it true. But, you are right - when the entire Country is reeling under the unnecessary prolonged Court cases, you have something like this, which was heard and the verdict was given in just a few days.
Looks like, they took 'Sunny Deol's Tareekh pe tareekh dialogue' a tad seriously - only for the Elite and Celebrity Junta.
Having said, this doesn't undermine the Producer's right to take the case to High Court and the final verdict itself.
Finally movie will release with only one cut and 3 disclaimers.

I think there is more than meets the eye. There is an NGO in Punjab that is contemplating taking this further to Supreme Court. As much as I think they too don't stand a chance, the Producers might still haven't taken a sigh of relief, at least until the movie is officially released.
