Hello Everyone,
I landed in Toronto last year i.e August 2015 , did my course from Seneca which was of 2 semesters( 8 months). Within 1 month of completion of my course I got my field job.
It has been 2 months since I am working and have 1 yr of contract with that company.
I have 1 year of work permit which expires next year June 2017.
So can some one please guide me like what should I do to file my PR.
What is the process and how long the procedure takes and who are the right people to talk to.
Waiting for your kind response.
Thank You

You are here in Canada and amongst us to seek and obtain help. That is 100% in your favour. Now you have a Work Permit. You have a Job. Get the NOC Number for it. Get the LEVEL at which you are currently employed. Get a Letter of Recommendation from your current Employer.
Will they keep you employed? If so will they provide you with a Work Permit or ASSIST you in obtaining one from the Employment Canada.
Now do not jump the gun. Get all your ducks in a row. Prepare well. You have lots of time to do all of this. After that get back to us. OR alternately find a location that is close to you where you can obtain all of the help. See the list below and select a location.
UPGRADE YOUR LANGUAGE SKILLS..: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=690&top=29
You also must not: have less than one year of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada to qualify for Express Entry.
They have thrown you into the same heap as those who are applying with better education and better skills and from all over the world. {That does not mean that you have less chances.}
Also, the rules are changing and you have to keep on top of all of these changes, as and when they are happening, to take advantage of the change in the Government regulations, as quickly as possible.
AFTER you complete all of these requirements and feel at ease, you know that they will provide you with an Invitation to Apply for the Express Entry.
In my books you are O.K. But pull up your socks and work hard to complete the assignments that I have given you above. NO IF's and BUT's.

The Liberal government is looking to ease some rules to make it easier for international students who have been "shortchanged" by express entry to obtain permanent residency, says Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister John McCallum.
Express entry was launched by the previous Conservative government as a way to fill the country's labour needs by fast-tracking permanent residency, in six months or less, for highly skilled foreign nationals.

"We must do more to attract students to this country as permanent residents," McCallum said following a meeting this week in Toronto with his provincial and territorial counterparts.

I don't know much about your back ground to advise ... but if you are a foreign graduate, with atleast one year foreign experience, has a canadian diploma, acquired one year Canadian experience ( your job title shoudl fall into skilss sets of O, A, B levels) and has good IELTS score you will be in the game under express entry and can get the invitation.
You have only one year work permit. Most important thing is ... putting up canadian experience in any field with skillsets in O, A, B level.
Hence make sure that your work permit do not get wasted by doing unskilled jobs officially.
Here is a small break for you. It is in the upgrading of the language skills. Government of Canada, Immigration Department says that if you have got through and Graduated with your ONE YEAR Course, They will recognize it as if you fully hold the skills required in the Language course.
Which makes you exempt now.
Now you can heave a sigh of relief.
Good Luck,
FH.
Please verify.
