Always good idea to educate yourself on an issue before supporting or being against. Muslims are required to pray 5 times a day at different specified time frame. With the exception of good excuse the schedule is to be followed. Muslim kids in schools close to mosque usually walk there to pray during lunch break or so. Nothing wrong.

Good to know you despise all religions - it's you right. Remebember ones fairy tales is someone elses religion.

Thanks for the education. but you did not answer the question. The education I received from you here is that the demand is to bring schools to stand still 5 times a day (or give and take 3 times!) . What are other students and teachers are suppose to do during that time ? Next demand will be to make a school wide announcement at specified time to bring kids to the prayer room. Then accompany them back to classes. Do'nt you visualize total infringement in working of an institution ?

Btw in my friends's religion, humans are suppose to pray whole day and keep reciting 'the name' as many times as they can. Seems like he belongs to the better one !!

SCHOOLS AND RELIGION.

Somewhere in the year 2010, The Canadian Hindu Advocacy group, The Jewish Defence League and the Muslim Canadian Congress got together and agreed to the opposition of the Prayer Sessions on the Friday Afternoons in the Cafeteria of the Valley park Middle School and also OTHER Schools simply because it was considered as a wrong RELIGIOUS Setting.

HOW WRONG+. As a society they all worked very assiduously to remove the role the Christianity has played in most of the Schools in Ontario with their own denominational mandate that was handed down to them from the past.

HOW LONG AGO was it+. Yes sir, we all are about 150 years TOO LATE to discuss that. So who are all of these opposing bodies. Only McDonald knows, not the one with Big Mac. All of these are johnny come lately and formed a group and got the LORD`s PRAYER that which was a singing routine in the schools and it was sung each and every morning, ABOLISHED. WHY+. Because that was the mandate of the Governments then. They were considered as a Sovereign Christian Nation and they obeyed the rules that were laid down for them. What changed that+. The FREEDOM OF RELIGION entered the picture and so, they said we need to respect that point of the law.

When that BIG GUY `TURUMPH` got inaugurated he had an Archbishop, A Black Priest and a Jewish Rabi to get him off as a President and bless his path. Here in Canada, now a days we see an Archbishop too and now a guy with a pair of mukluks or a set of dancing boots with feathered hat and a Peace Pipe and pot to burn come and bless the Prime Minister Harper or Trudeau to pave their way into the Parliament.(Where you see a very big sign saying NO SMOKING in Public places) All of this for what. It is to drive into all of us that this country is a Sovereign Christian Nation. WHY. Because that is what they said 150 years ago. And before that, say 250 years before, they fought their assoff on the plains of Abraham with muskets and bayonets to get a foot hold on this soil that we now call Canada. You did not see anyone with a saffron robe or a guy robed in hijab anywhere around to bless them into their offices, did you+. But the CATHOLICS got a very good foothold here of their own and still rule the roost.

IS THIS A NORMAL ROUTINE. Yes you better believe it and now even the INSURANCE Industry also does that in their disclaimers, which is ÀN ACT OF GOD`, added to their way out of a deal.

Now to the sound reasonings. Theory of Evolution, the Creationism, Hindu Shastras and science and observations, the formation of EACH and all of the religions as time went (goes) by and all of us who want out of it and don`t know what to call ourselves, (Could it be Atheists) All of us enter the picture here want to know a lot of answers to all of the questions that have been lingering there in our mind with out a strong and correct answer, seek help from other dummies. They in turn ask you why do you spoil things for me while I am enjoying the set up the way it is now. Leave us alone.

Some one will turn around and will ask Why should I leave you alone when you agreed to the point not to say your prayers on Fridays in the school premises. Does some one else be called wolf in sheep`s clothing. All of these are shenanigans. Semantics plays no role in this. The school boards are also playing FOOTSIE with this. A few of us are kicking the can down the road.

WE are the current generation and we MUST emerge out of this conundrum and tell everyone that we will let our own kids decide for themselves at an age when they turn 18 to decide things for themselves, until such a time we want everyone to lie low and LEAVE THE SCHOOLS OUT OF THIS and we all will conduct the same in our own places of worship. AND they don`t have to know where the hell it is.
