but loudspeakers come in the way. what to do?

This episode took me back to 2001 when I was struggling to sleep in Delhi due to jagrata and temple loudspeakers . Luckily there was no mosque nearby so did not have to listen to elan-e-azan everyday. On complaining, it was told to me that loudspeakers are permitted and Jagratas are held on road under special permission. Helpless we used to feel. Now situation is changed. Sonu Nigam's tweet is timely. Nothing great will happen , it will be forgotten in few days but this really is amusing. Mullas are creating issues out of it.

This thing Exposes lack of common sense among us Indians. Justice Kajtu was right.

As long as people makes religion their friend and logic their enemy this thing will continue.

Not just Mosque all religion has to be restricted in using loud speakers. After certain time there should not be sound pollution regardless of religion. Then we have one more issue blocking the road completely for religion activities .

Not just 'restricted', but an outright ban. The sound shouldn't come outside of their premises. Plain and simple.

There must be a "no-noise" time. Anything that is making noise beyond certain decibel should be banned during the periods of say 11.00 PM till 5.00 AM. That would cover fireworks as well.

In Gujarat, where Navaratri is very popular, traditionally people use to do it in small groups and mostly it was being wrapped up before 11.00 PM. As the glamour came into play, commercialization of holy festival started which had nothing to with goddess of power, business people started renting party plots. For them larger the volume bigger the money they will make. Not only that, they used to start at 11.00 PM and were going on till 3.00.

Finally a time came when the government put ban on it. In closed facilities, it is still done, but not in open area. Just like Navaratri in Canada. In the societies they start early and wrap up quite on time.

So, if the government is determined, this insanity can be stopped.

Of-course, there would be special days, like India winning the world-cup where you absolutely can't control anything, but hey, we need to design the system for rules and not for exceptions.

Supreme court banned loudspeakers from 10 PM to 8 am. Religious institution does not care and people support these institutions.

Gundagardi hai bus....

True, It's easy to play with people's sentiments when it comes to religion. However low enforcement's are required too when people don't listen.
