centrino sucks... its a HELL of a lot cheaper not to buy biult in wireless, and just add on a card which you can get for an extra $70... specially if you wont be running too long on battery (plugged in to power outlet most of the time)...

dell has some cool deals for business... i have two laptops on two year lease from them... they had this program where they "lease" it to your business at 0% for 2 years with a buyout option at the end of the term for $1... so pay the lease from business and write off the payments, and at the end of the term, pay the $1 from your own money, and the equipment is yours... no depreciation to worry about... other manufacturers may have something similar...

Guys,

Could you please share your experiences of having Refurbished / New Desktops...some of the refurbished ones have really interesting deals.
Are they really worth buying :h .....I checked them out on www.factorydirect.ca and www.tigerdirect.ca

regards

Maverick

I too have bad experience with the chinese computer stores who do all sort of wrong practices to sell their products or software or accessories. They would not even feel shame to spoil your good things and force you to buy more.

Be careful about these kind of stores

Most of the laptops can work on 110 and 220V because the step down box takes care of that.

The only thing you would need is a plug adaptor. That you can buy at Walmart or change the umblical cord.

One of the websites where you can really buy a lot cheap is ebay.

Dont buy refurbished stuff. It may work erratically.

I just bought a Toshiba laptop. Keeping in mind the taxes in Canada, I'd say buy it before you land.

I will help you to buy cheap laptop for 50.00 CDN. You need to drive around toronto though.

You have to buy from individual. That is the only way to get cheaper deal. Never buy used laptop from dealers or shop.

If you like to have warranty, buy new laptop.

If you want used laptop , get it from individuals and take someone knows how to check laptop and do some research on that model problems.

good luck,

Alexkumar

Hi Alex,

It seems like an exaggeration. Are you sure the laptop you would buy for $50 from an individual would not be an 'obsolete', 'useless' or a 'stolen' one?
