The price of PC's and Laptops have gone down considerably.

You can get a good laptop for $ 250 and a good PC for $ 200 these days. Most of them last for at least 4-5 years if not more. So very few people bother repairing them if something goes wrong. As cost of repair is often as expensive as buying a new one.

So I wouldn't advice you to go into this line. If you get a job to repair it, its not going to be more than $ 15/hr.

If you try to open a store to repair stuff on your own, just the store rent & insurance is going to kill you. Plus there are lot of Desi & Chinese stores, who are already doing it, so the competition will be fierce. Most end up making barely minimum wage after all the overheads.

Try to go into Tablet repairs and Smart Phone repairs, most people use that instead of PC's these days. Also they tend to drop & damage them more and crack screens etc. Plus margins on repairs are higher and you don't need lot of store space to carry out repairs.

A guy who drops a $ 1,000 Iphone or Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and crack it, is more likely to repair it than some old guy who wants to fix his 5 year old $ 200 PC.

You are in LUCK.
SURE.. They will be starting soon in a town near you. AND it is FREE too.

Find out when??

The Pro Tech Network will see Microsoft and iFixit offer free training on smartphone, tablet and PC repairs to help people start small businesses offering such services.

Microsoft is also using the service to bolster its green credentials, as it said repair services will save many of the precious materials, including copper, gold, lead and zinc, used in such gadgets.

Good Luck.
