Work permit interview. Massoodji please Help !

I extended my workpermit within canada, when I sent my application to buffalo for extending my visa, they asked me to appear for an interview.

I have applied for PR(done medicals & RCMP clearance one month back) from Canada in buffalo. Massoodji , please advice if my PR application will affect this work permit visa interview ?

Hi Nivas,
Why did you apply for it in buffalo? I thought you should have followed the following link

Anyway I don't think your PR will be affected.
Although Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Vegreville, Alberta. would have been a better option for applying for extension

short answer... pr application.. no

visit visa extension application... very probably no...

the reason for the interview is probably you wanting a visit visa extension while having an immigrant application in process... they will probably want to verify that you want an extension on valid grounds and are not asking for one simply to remain in canada while your pr application is in process...

when you go make sure you take all relavant documentation for your employment with you (tax return, employment letter, pay stubs, bank statements, rental lease agreement etc)...

CPC-V extends permit only (the huge pink/brown page of paper that lists your conditions such as employer/school, expiry date etc).. the actual visa stamp you need to exit and enter canada must be issued by an overseas post...

Bighead says it. Get all your documentation and you should be fine. Have you already got a US visitor Visa?
When I extended my visa i never send the passport to be stamped. I visited India and go it stamped in New Delhi before returning back from my holiday. To stay inside Canada your work permit is valid.

Your PR application should not affect your work permit, especially if you initially entered Canada on a work permit.
